It's alright for Mech and Gang to post completely unrelated spam cut and pastes, but not alright for us to mention a delicious burger with a side of fries and chili? |

But getting back on topic...AGAIN.
Elite power brokers' secret talks
By Emma Jane Kirby
BBC correspondent in Paris
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/3031717.stm
The world's financial and political elite are to hold a closed meeting in France on Thursday where delegates are expected to be focusing their attention on post war Iraq.
The Bilderberg meeting will be held in Versailles just before the start of the Group of Seven meeting of finance ministers in nearby Paris.
Henry Kissinger is believed to be attending this year
******************************************************************************
Bilderberg, which was founded in the 1950s by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, is said to steer international policy from behind closed doors.
******************************************************************************
Its critics say that it is a capitalist organisation which operates entirely through self interest.
By anyone's standards, it is a bit of a mystery.
There are no members as such - instead, an invitation list is comprised each year by an unknown steering committee, but participants are mainly leading and powerful figures in the fields of business and politics.
Political clout
The meetings are cloaked in secrecy and participants rarely reveal their attendance, although this year's list is rumoured to include the American banker David Rockefeller and Henry Kissinger.
What the group actually does is no clearer either, although it's known to be an extremely influential lobbying group with a good deal of political clout on both sides of the Atlantic.
Key members of both the British and the US governments are said to have attended gatherings.
But critics accuse Bilderberg of being sinister and conspiratorial - if what the delegates are discussing is really for the good of ordinary people they ask, then why can't they publicise it?

geez gregg...you’re referencing something twice as old as the MAD pic. Startin’ to strain yourself in the ridicule department from the looks of things. Why don’tcha call 425-342-2121, pick one, and ask ’em yourself? As for Alred E., if you’re tired of looking at him, I have another pic I can post. JR is pretty fond of that one... |

Trianon Park Hotel - VersaillesBilderberg conference 2003 venue confirmed: Versailles, Paris, France - Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th May
http://www.bilderberg.org/2003.htm
Known in attendance...
Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Queen Sofia and King Juan-Carlos of Spain, Paavo Lipponen (former Prime Minister of Finland), Henry Kissinger, Kenneth Clarke and Richard Perle have all been positively identified among the guests arriving at Versailles' Trianon Park hotel for this years exclusive and secret Bilderberg meeting. Bilderberg is made up of central bankers, press barons, government ministers, prime ministers and royalty, the most powerful people in the western world, and always takes place close to the G8 meeting one or two weeks before it.
BBC story on 2003 Bilderberg conference http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3031717.stm
World Net Daily article http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=32606
The five star hotel, next door to the palace of Versailles and one of the most exclusive in Paris, is surrounded by two tight cordons of french riot police, the infamous CRS. Amongst the various guests, taken from the NATO and EU countries, Perle is a particularly controversial figure - remaining a member of the U.S. defence policy board who pushed for the Iraq war his companies are likely to profit directly from the so-called 'war on terrorism'.
PERLE:
As a key architect of the illegal Iraq war the invasion will add to his private fortune (see Commondreams and Seymore Hersh's New Yorker article). Colin Powell is expected to deliver a report to the conference today (Saturday) on his way back home from Germany and the Middle East.
The hotel has been cordoned off in such a way as to be completely impossible to see. Friendly staff say all the windows have been blacked out to stop photographers who get inside the riot barriers from snapping secret guests inside. The conference agenda is supposed to be secret but leaks strongly indicate management of the Iraq and Palestine invasions as well as a final push for a European Army are top of the list this year. Any 'consensus' reached inside is an artificial one because so many of the guests are elitists and have much to lose by sharing their wealth and power with ordinary people.
Conference organisers are available on the hotel telephone line and will be able to fax out an agenda and list of participants from Sunday afternoon.
Despite the ultra high-powered businessmen and royalty in attendance, no journalists from any media outlet controlled by Bildererg multinational bosses such as Rupert Murdoch and Conrad Black are covering it. BBC Radio 4 are making a documentary for broadcast on Thursday 3rd July and independent journalists from Iceland, Norway and Turkey too.
Journalists from London magazine, The Economist, are inside Bilderberg every year but since one curious 'mistake' in the 1980's never mention the conference in their pages.
one of many unknown guestsThe anti-globalisation French daily newspaper, 'Liberation', says it might cover the Bilderberg conference in a few weeks time. Many journalists are afraid of the power the Bilderbergers wield and believe lies accusing key Bilderberg investigative journalists American Free Press of being neo-nazis.
In fact Bilderberg conferences were started in 1954 by Queen Beatrix's father, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. He was a card-carrying member of Hitler's SS under the Nazi regime.
The organisers refuse to allow any participant lists out until after the conference has finished and feed lies to the handful of journalists about who is inside.
As for Henry Kissinger's possible arrest in France (remember the hotel incident?) - it now transpires that the French lawyer who was after him for answers about the Chile coup in 1973 has received replies from the U.S. state department.

Bilderbergers in the news 2003
Leaks from last May's Bilderberg meeting were one of the first indications in the world that Iraq had been selected for the transatlantic alliance's next military outing.
Bilderberg appears to be a key place where plans for U.S. imperial adventurism are run past the handful of people powerful enough to stop them. The Quisling British are 'ideal' U.S. allies as custodians of 'the language of commerce'. As the illegal Iraq invasion 'settles down', what will be the next staging post in the global crisis being engineered by the governments of Britain, The United States and Israel? Judging by last year's leaks, a fly on the wall in Versailles might well discover the answer.
There is evidence that the lower echelons of the ruling class are being told right now that the Western world is facing total financial meltdown. The only way to save their hard earned investments, they are told, is to throw their weight behind this global crisis centred around the Middle East to replace the time-expired East-West cold war crisis.

You got THAT right, Seeker....global crisis don't pay the bills! In fact, it costs billions of dollars to have global crisis, and the best environment for profit is a stable world. Therefore, if anything, the foremost strategic concern for maintaining a healthy and growing world economy is to maintain a stable world situation with as few crisis as possible. This is exactly at odds with the goals of terrorist groups which have the opposite ambition and that is to cause world wide economic and societal instability. This is why our war on terrorism is so critically important. Terrorism, is perhaps the most destabilizing force in the world right now.
The US has an economy that is just waiting to take off, if spending due to war costs and ever increasing government waste and social programs and expenditures can be controlled and capped....because certainly, the American people are more productive than ever before. The GDP is just waiting to go through the roof...and we are starting to see other signs of pending economic recovery now as well. Just look at what is happening with the stock markets. Investors are once again gaining confidence, and we’ve been seeing a sustained upward 45 degree trend in all the stock indexes. This is not volatile ballooning, indicating panic and uncertainty...this is a steady upward trend...a sign of good health for the economy. Right now, we are in the middle of a bit of a pull back in the up trend, but that’s normal, as investors engage in some profit taking.
Bush tax cuts will be a tremendous economic boost as well when those go into effect. The only uncertain factor is acts of terrorism...which of course, is why this is absorbing so much of Bush's thought and time. It is the most important problem that the world has right now, in terms of maintaining stability...and Bush is tackling this problem in the most effective way possible…going after them one by one, country by country…and letting the world know we won‘t back down, and the price for terrorism could very well be the end of your country‘s government. That is no small message…and terrorist groups know that they are under serious threat right now. The recent bombings were a defiant message from Al-Qaeda to say "we aren't beaten yet"....but they will be...It's just a matter of time, and a matter of keeping Bush in office. Bush remaining in office is critical to maintaining the efforts to eliminate terrorism, the major factor that causes worldwide instability and economic uncertainty..
