Road trip PostFri Aug 17, 2001 12:43 am  Reply with quote

I had to take a business trip to a larger city just to the north of us yesterday. I did not notice many trails when we left home about 4pm . When we arrived at our destination about 6pm The sky was full of every kind of trail and by sunset a complete chemdome. My allergys were peaked and even Claritin D offered little relief. This is also a city that is about 40 miles east of Columbus and basicaly in the middle of no where with no major airport But the trails were in the typical every direction manner in which I see them lay on heavy days back home. So I was wondering if maybe the larger city's get more trails . If so it must be population??? roman

Rural's get hit hard too. I live in a small city in Maine. Not as back woods as some but let's just say we have no pro ball teams. My area is being hit as hard as any I've ever seen even in photos. It has been nonstop for weeks with many ultra saturated days. My "My Vacation" series in the new images database is from a rural locale and it has beeen like this constantly. My guess as to why here in Maine is that we are coastal (they seem to go offshore first here to bring it on land) and I see the jetstream go through or near Maine a lot.

Hi Eyes: Just got back from my vacation up theyah. Tried to get the family to look up but no one was interested in anything but the bluefish...they were running just beautiful, chem soup and all. Was on the island near Brunswick for two weeks, got full chem treatment all but two days.

Those two beautiful blue sky days almost made me weep, they are now so rare. The two clear days also gave way to some outragous dark starry nights. Had almost forgotten how many stars there are up there.

Got back to FL on the 13th haven't seen anything but complete chem cover every day even when there are thunderstorms.

Please excuse my ignorence of the eastern seabord as i live on the western 0ne
do the predominant winds bring the stuff westward from the ocean ?
here on the left coast the used to bring the weather from the west Pacific ocean onto the land
i had always assumed that it kept going towards the east even on the east (right?) coast?
