Wearing my Moderator hat with the scrambled eggs on the brim (and the aluminum foil lining):
When posting URLs there are two rules with no exceptions permitted if you want them to work--
1. A space BEFORE and AFTER the URL. If you want to add a punctuation mark or continue your sentence, rules of URLs trump rules of English.
2. Absolutely correct spelling. Close doesn't count in URLs. For this reason, I use cut-and-paste whenever possible when transferring URLs.
(This isn't a putdown on BobB, by the way. All you lurkers see URLs and pictures and are wondering, "How'd they do that?" If you'd like to learn more about html, check out this site: http://werbach.com/barebones/barebones.html It's a trial-and-error process, but Thermit and the moderators will be glad to try to help you.)

I would like to thank you for that advice. I am learning quickly, Ive only had it ( my computer) for 8 months, so Im still kind of new. .......... I have determined that the towers I described here are putting out a powerful carrier signal at times .This was discovered by accident. It came over my guitar amp when the gain was turned up on the amp with the cord plugged into the amp but not the guitar. An irritating sound too, and I soon discovered that it comes over any sensitive amplifier when the gain is high, such as my turntable inputs on my stereo. It also comes over the cassette deck in my truck (yes, the same sound)when Im right near them (the towers) and it seems to be picked up by the tape head ,not the rf circuit(electromagnetic?)because its not heard on the radio. Also, last but not least, a little research into the cellular systems available to this area indicated that none of our available cell phone services use these towers. Cell phones from the various services do not increase in signal strength when near these towers. This was determined by me personally, using cell phones owned by friends and myself. If anyone knows who the hell VALOR TELECOM is ,where their from, and why the hell they have taken over our fiber optics here in Texas please e-mail me or post it here. Thank you |

Good for you, BobB, for having the courage to attempt HTML. (The edit function here comes in very handy, I've found.)
Since you're new at computers, do you know how to do a Googlesearch? It's the most exhaustive/exhausting search engine on the web. Go to http://google.com
You'll see a search bar. Type in your search terms, hit "Enter" on your computer, and you'll get, oh, 500,000 choices. Page 1 and 2 usually give you the best results, and will also give you ideas of other search terms to refine your search.
Don't forget to click the place labeled "Cached". Even if you get a "404 Not Found" error when you click the address portion of the search result, most of the information will still be under "Cached". Conveniently, that area also shows the material with your search terms highlighted. This is helpful when the URL gives a huge amount of written material and you don't want to read all of it to find the part you're interested in.
Finally, look for a box at the bottom of the Google page which says "Search within results". If you want to use additional terms to refine your search, click there and add those terms. Or if you're getting lots of wrong hits, figure out what common word those hits contain and type the minus sign plus that word (no spaces between the minus and the word) into "Search within results". Hit "Return" on your keyboard, and the Googlesearch will eliminate those choices.

A funny thing happened on my way to living.
The strobe lights on the tower across the bay
are now off,but will be on again,
just wait.Usually when there is
military activity in the area.
As I suspected. I am tracking down
the owners now. If I can get to the
bottom of who put the strobe tower up,
I can either prove my theory more or discount it.I still say its military.
How many cell phone towers do you know switch randomly from red lights to
strobe? I don't know any. Will keep you updated.

I observed a structure very much like the one in the photo posted by Thermit. I recall noting how ugly it looked. It was located very close to Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington (within about a mile or less from the base). |
