To all:

It is getting so that remarkable items are becoming eligible for inclusion in two or three categories. Several cases of news leaks through what can be called "Freudian slips" have been covered up, when reported, so they also constitute "hidden news". The murder of the water scientist at the Totowa facility she was working at has eerie similarities to the recent spate of "suicides" of microbiologists, and the "suicides" of microbiologists seem to invoke the apparent pattern of wholesale Lariam-induced murder at Ft. Bragg. Now comes an item that seems to tie up with many of these patterns.

On Sunday, February 13, 2005, a man was found hanging by the neck from a "makeshift noose", in a janitor's closet, at Newark International Airport, according to spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Tiffany Townsend. The 39 year old man was a citizen on the United States, but came originally from Portugal. On Sunday, he had arrived on a flight from Portugal, and was making connections to go on to Washington, D.C., when he, supposedly, suddenly decided he just had to kill himself! The closet in which his body was found was in Terminal C, "between his walk from the plane and the customs checkpoint to re-enter the United States", but it is asserted that it is not believed that he killed himself to avoid customs. He landed at 12:24 p.m., and his body was found at about 1:20 p.m.

For all that this would seem a significant event, I saw a reference only in the Monday Star Ledger. Nowhere else! Not even in The New York Times! It wasn't even on the local affiliate News 12 New Jersey cable station! There seems a desperate intent to keep this as secret as possible! The man's name was kept secret in the article, since his family supposedly hadn't been alerted yet, but, if there is an agenda to keep this hidden, and avoid any subsequent mentioning of the event in the media, his name might never be revealed through the press! Add it to the files on news they apparently want to keep hidden, and at least keep it alongside the file on suspicious "suicides" of microbiologists! And don't think it necessarily isn't related to the apparent murder of of Geetha Angara, the water chemist, in the Totowa water facility!

It sometimes takes a while for the story to get passed around.

There was a brief mention of the incident in the NY Times on the 15th all the way back in the Metre Briefings section.

NEWARK: SUICIDE REPORTED AT AIRPORT A passenger who had just flown in from Portugal was found hanged in a janitor's closet at Newark Liberty International Airport, the authorities said. The death of Anandio Da Conceicao, 39, was ruled a suicide by the state medical examiner, said John Hagerty, a spokesman for the state's Division of Criminal Justice. Mr. Da Conceicao, an American citizen originally from Portugal, lived in Silver Spring, Md. It was sent out by the AP but I guess that not too many people wanted to run it. Sad

Passenger hangs self in airport closet

Tuesday, February 15, 2005
ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEWARK - A passenger who had just flown in from Lisbon, Portugal, was found hanged in a janitor's closet at Newark Liberty International Airport, authorities said.

The death of Anandio Da Conceicao was ruled a suicide by the state medical examiner, said John Hagerty, a spokesman for the state Division of Criminal Justice.

Da Conceicao, 39, of Silver Spring, Md., entered the closet in Terminal C about an hour after landing on Continental Airlines Flight 65 at 12:24 p.m. Sunday, said Lou Martinez, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The closet was temporarily unlocked while a cleaner was nearby, he said. When she returned, she found the man hanging on a makeshift noose, Martinez said.

She summoned agents of Customs and Border Protection, who were unable to revive the man, said agency spokeswoman Janet Rapaport.

Da Conceicao, a U.S. citizen originally from Portugal, had not yet reached the customs checkpoint, and was scheduled to catch a connecting flight to Washington, D.C., Martinez said.

I did check on his name and he wasn't a scientist but there does seem to be something suspicious about his death.
