The Patriot Act should be renamed the "Osama boogeyman gets his way" Act. Isn't it funny that we are supposedly fighting a war for freedom when we're actually losing even more of that freedom now than we ever were before? Why don't people see this?
One old woman on Washington journal this morning declared that "we need cameras on every street corner, God bless America!".
Another man said, "who cares if the FBI listens in on your phone conversations?" "What makes you think that you're so important that they shouldn't be able to hear what you're saying?"
These are exactly the types of hopeless idiots that Franklin was describing.
Another caller made a good point, if the government really needs so much personal information from US citizens in order to stop crime and terrorism then explain Timothy McVeigh? He was in the military, they had all of his paperwork and that didn't seem to matter much did it? The story doesn't seem to add up does it? |
