predictions 2007

2007 will be the hottest year in 400 years,
and if that isn't enough there will also be chemtrails in the sky to make it just a tad hotter,
I predict there will be a lot of deaths (from the summer heat wave) especially in north america where people don't have air conditioners,
simply because A.C.s are never needed. _________________ "The whole aim of practical politics is

Interesting predictions Mr. Jones.
Presumably these were not intended to "alarm", nor were they considered to be "imaginary".
One person's "fact" versus another's perception. |

I would classify these as uninformed predictions.

Haven't you ever heard about the 1995 heatwave in Chicago? You really should consider who will be reading your posts and the effects your "information" could have on them. I'm all for free posting here until it comes to potentially dangerous information being passed off as fact.
"Medical examiners around the country confirmed that Donoghue's heat-related death criteria were scientifically sound and endorsed his findings. But perhaps the best measure of heat deaths comes from another figure—the "excess death" rate—which counts the difference between the reported deaths and the typical deaths for a given time period. According to this measure, 739 Chicagoans above the norm died during the week of 14 to 20 July—which means that Donoghue had been conservative in his accounts."
Don't tell me AC was never needed when I had to witness this:
"The morgue typically receives about 17 bodies a day and has a total of 222 bays. By Saturday—just three days into the heat wave—its capacity was exceeded by hundreds, and the county had to bring in a fleet of refrigerated trucks to store the bodies."
Think about what you're saying. What do these meaningless predictions serve other than your ego if they happen to come true? I'd say with the media reporting that 2006 was the hottest year on record, it's probably a safe bet that 2007 will be just as hot, if not hotter. If you want to warn people, warn them. _________________ “To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee” |

Prediction Problems

I find it nearly impossible that anyone can predict anything. For one as many threads here have shown, we hardly even know what happened in the past. Look at all the debates raging in archaeology circles. What's more, we can't even "predict" the present. Very few humans know what is going on in the world around them, look at the chemtrail problem, for instance.
Here's something from physics:
Nothing can move faster than the speed of light.
The speed of light is around 670,616,629.384 miles per second.
The sun is a full 8 light minutes away.
If the sun blew up right now, we wouldn't know about it for 8 minutes.
Psychic Scam Examples:

Sylvia Brown
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylvia_Browne#Criticism_and_controversy
"Although Browne has made many public "predictions", her accuracy rate has been no better than educated guessing. Among her predictions, that Bill Clinton was falsely accused in the Lewinsky scandal (proved incorrect), that George H. W. Bush would defeat Bill Clinton in the 1992 U.S. presidential election (Bush lost), that Bill Bradley would win the 2000 U.S. presidential election with the Reform Party coming in second, the "hiding in caves" of Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein (found in a spider hole in the ground), the death of bin Laden (later reported by the Central Intelligence Agency as incorrect), a verdict of "guilty" in the 2005 child molestation trial of Michael Jackson, the cure and prevention of breast cancer by the end of 1999, and the appearance of alien life on Earth by the year 2010. Browne appeared on CNN's Larry King Live days before the September 11, 2001 attacks and failed to predict the event, but after the fact claimed she had disturbing dreams involving a lot of fire in the week preceding the attack. She also stated on the Montel Williams Show's New Years Predictions that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston would have a baby, that year."
"In 21, the details were too vague to be verified. Of the remaining 14, law-enforcement officials or family members involved in the investigations say that Browne had played no useful role."
"Many critics say an incident involving Browne on January 3, 2006, on the U.S. radio program Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, is evidence of her deception and fraud. The incident, which was broadcast live, involved Browne making her predictions for 2006. Browne and Noory were discussing the nature of her psychic premonitions, when Noory brought up the topic of the then unfolding 2006 Sago Mine disaster. At the time it was believed, due to erroneous news reports, that 12 of the 13 trapped miners had been found alive."
What good can possibly come from this, other than profit and national exposure for a sham artist? _________________ “To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee” |

excessive criticisms for the sake of it is not really needed. I find the logic valid, though perhaps a bit off the point. Yes people will die from a heatwave, but lack of AC's can not be the most lethal cause. So y'all chill and let people talk now ya hear!
PS. Mr. Jones, I'd be interested to learn anything you know about dreaming and astral projection etc. Specifics please! If you will, please answer in a new posting. thx _________________ "Hikow mamtaqiym wkulow mahamadiym zeh dowdiy wzeh ree`iy bnowt yruushaalaaim."

I am sorry, I was excessive.
I didn't mean to come across as a jerk. I do think that since this is a Science thread, we should concentrate on facts here instead of conjecture. _________________ “To the last, I grapple with thee; From Hell's heart, I stab at thee; For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee” |

death is a door,
"I don't mind dying, I just don't want it to be painful" quote. Woody Allen.
Facts? that is a very interesting suggestion,
especially in a world where science is censored.
But getting back to the "death",
If people learned to astral travel they would realize that their existence in this world is one of several existences, (occuring at the same time)
and the transition into their next abode after death would become a normal thing,
not something to be feared or hoped for,
but simply giving our lives in this physical world a different perspective,
giving our efforts a better judgement as far as personal evolution is concerned,
warn people?
hey come on? _________________ "The whole aim of practical politics is
