WASHINGTON — Five armed Iranian speedboats approached three United States Navy warships in international waters in the strategic Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, then maneuvered aggressively as radio threats were issued that the American ships would be blown up, Pentagon officials said Monday.

Iran has China on their side, one of the main scenarios is that if Iran is attacked eventually china will step in and things will get very messy (to say the least).
my own prediction is that 2008 will be relatively calm (my prediction is based more on hope than enyhting else) but 2009 will be a crucial year.

TEHRAN — Iran fired a research rocket into space on Monday to mark the opening of its space center, a move that was immediately condemned by the United States.
Iran’s state news media reported that a rocket for research purposes was fired from a newly built space center in the deserts of Semnan Province, southeast of Tehran, the capital. The rocket, called Kavoshgar-1, meaning Researcher-1, was fired in preparation for the planned launching in June of Iran’s first domestically made satellite, the semiofficial Fars News Agency said.
The United States criticized Iran’s action. Sean McCormack, the State Department spokesman, said the launching “is just another troubling development, in that the kinds of technologies and capabilities that are needed in order to launch a space vehicle for orbit are the same kinds of capabilities and technologies that one would employ for long-range ballistic missiles.”
10:1 says they never even fired a missile. This sounds like right-winger warmongering....

Its Syria they're after. Iran is just a ruse. Syria before the year is up. Either a direct assault or assisting some made up despot to take power. I'll bet you £20 of Amazon vouchers on that. Any takers?

Lets see if this makes sense to you... here is a map of greater Israel. The land mass that they claim used to be ancient Israel and which they want back. Now take a look and see how many of these countries are either enemies of Israel or America or have had their leaders liquidated and blamed on an enemy of both America and Israel.
