And Bees are good for buzziness, shuttled in yellow and black school buzzies to be indoctrinated. And we see how the buzziness world with the Drones at the top are sticking it to the worker bees below.

And Ewe and You sound the same, we are the sheeple to the wolves, to be herded, fleeced and eaten.

Kashkari: What’s in a name, an age, an affiliation?
Posted by Gwen Robinson on Oct 06 10:39.

Far be it for FT Alphaville to be ageist - or “name-ist” for that matter. But we can’t help noting some of the bemused reactions to news that US Treasury secretary Hank Paulson is expected to put 35-year-old Neel Kashkari, a Treasury assistant secretary for international affairs and a former Goldman Sachs banker, in charge of overseeing the $700bn US financial sector bailout plan.

First and foremost, for those who believe Paulson has a slightly tin ear, not just for the constitutional separation of powers (as the FT noted recently) but also for political currents and growing public aversion towards what you could call the “Goldmanisation” of the US economy, it seems a curious time to appoint a young acolyte from “The Firm” to run one of the most critical financial rescue programmes in US history .

Kashkari, who originally trained as an aerospace engineer and worked on developing technology for NASA before earning an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, caught Paulson’s attention when he joined Goldman Sachs. Once there, he headed up Goldman’s IT security investment banking practice in San Francisco before joining Paulson at the Treasury in 2007.

Second, there is a small matter of experience. He is 35 years old and - if appointed and confirmed - will, as the Wall Street Journal points out, gain a “position of substantial power” overseeing Treasury’s effort to buy the financial industry’s bad loans and other distressed securities.

Nothing wrong with being 35 - in fact, everything right with it, in the eyes of many ageing bankers. But again, at this point of the escalating US financial crisis, it may not be the right time to appoint someone who is vulnerable for his lack of experience to such a crucial position. In other words, consider how old Kashkari was, say, in America’s S&L crisis of the 1980s. He is obviously competent but already, witness the backlash - ageist or otherwise - now peppering the blogosphere:

This from Elite Trader:

So Hank reaches into the bullpen and pulls out the rookie who struck out on all the previous crap when the crises wasn’t a crises. Man this article [about Kashkari’s appointment] should make the market soar tomorrow.

And this from Greg306, on Daily Kos, who worked with Kashkari a decade ago:

I cannot appropriately judge where he is now based on interactions ten years ago, but he has remarkably limited experience to be fulfilling such a role, and while he is intelligent, I did not see the level of genius ten years ago that might be required to compensate for such limited experience.

I hope that he will get the appropriate level of vetting to make sure that he can be trusted with such a significant position. My concerns are not assuaged by the fact that the position is “interim” between now and January - how many tens of billions (or hundreds of billions) of dollars will be committed during this interim period?

Finally, on a far more lighthearted note, comes this from Market Ticker:

Seriously? The guy overseeing the $700 billion is named “CashCarry”? You really can’t make this stuff up…

Neel Kashkari, the fox appointed to guard the henhouse and front the multi-trillion dollar bailout, faced angry questions from Dennis Kucinich and Rep. Darrell Issa during a hearing today, as Issa accused him of playing a “bait and switch” game with taxpayers’ money.

All the major networks carried footage of the U.S. House subcommittee hearing this morning and aired Kashkari’s opening statement in full. But as soon as Kucinich and Issa were about to weigh in, the networks almost simultaneously cut the feed and moved on to a different story. Another example of how the corporate media is owned by the same elite that runs the Federal Reserve.

Kucinich accused Paulson and Bush of circumventing Congress by completely changing the destination of where the bailout money would go and refusing to disclose what had happened to $2 trillion dollars of taxpayer money, adding, “I think it’s fairly obvious that Congress would have never passed the [rescue plan] had it known how Treasury would marshal the resources it was given.”

Kind of like MADOFF, who made off with a lot of loot for a long time. Just a coincidence, surely.
