It sounds like the plot of a bad Hollywood movie. A dying US spy satellite is hurtling towards Earth. Military specialists worry that its toxic fuel load could contaminate a populated area. After weeks of deliberation, a resolute president gives the order to shoot the satellite down with an air-to-space missile...
This, however, is no movie. The US military will indeed try to shoot down a rogue satellite this week, as soon as the space shuttle Atlantis has completed its mission. But almost nobody believes the public health rationale offered for the missile strike, seeing it instead as an attempt by the US to test out space weaponry or, possibly, to play a game of one-upmanship with China.
The satellite, which is about the size of a school bus, has been drifting back towards Earth since last month. True, it does contain about 1,000lb of a toxic fuel called hydrazine. But the risk, even if the fuel did spill out in the middle of a city, is so minimal as to be laughable, according to experts.

Check out the price tag on shooting it down. Why is it so necessary to blast it? Putin says it's a missile test.
I doubt that, I'm betting there is either a space deployed weapon on board or there is highly advanced technology on board they don't want anyone to see. I also bet the warning of dangerous fuel is bogus, if it has fuel they would either try to correct the orbit or crash it in a controlled area like the Western desert. Has all the other governments figured this out, you bet, they are going to swarm to this thing on impact so, they are going to try to shoot it down at any cost.
If it cost 60 million to do the test and 1000 missiles are coming in at war time the money doesn't exist to build enough of these anti-missile missiles to use the system.
Most likely, they'll pick it up with a black govt. vehicle and explode a cheapy old rocket and say we got it.
I'll also bet they could have shown you a film of the missile hitting the target a month ago.
Some people in this state are speculating electronic weapons that target citizens.

Weaponisation was the first reason to go to space. Depending on if we bother to look at history on this that is. What you describe seems more likely. Hard to know how many weapons are already up there, millions of stuff. This is a big one though.

Something isn't right about the climate I know. We had clear blue skies all of February until this Wednesday. Now it is totally cloudy with freezing wind chill. I noticed on Tuesday they started to spray more progressively than we had all month, like that was fooling me, of course to the sceptic it is atmospheric conditions to blame for all of the weather we've had in western Europe and UK. As the the earthquakes - they just say it is normal - and that they happen daily.
I asked government how the weather can be the same over two continents at the same time and they won't tell me. Nor have they answered how trails persist inter-continental distances for days or weeks.
