I emailed Scott the author of the article on its source. We will see what happens.
quote: Hi Scott,
Is that pic of the real id real?
http://www.krdo.com/Global/story.asp?S=7849776
The "glassy" for eye color and the pyramid for backround makes some wonder if this is not made up from a real id opponent? Could you possibly source it?
We are debating it at...

Thanks for any time

Great work keeping this thread alive
I read about new crimes related to ID fraud and fraudulent ID - as well as theft and also cyber crimes of hacking into the central EU and US databases, - remember these databases are to all be consolidated with all personal details as part of your digital profile. All government records consolidated into one database. It is enough to make criminals out of saints - really it will too. Sets a good ground to target dissenters and any possible threats they calculate from their software analysis that is done on profiles as they are updated on a daily basis, yes tracking you on a daily basis is due form of the system because of surveillance that will be linked up from the facial recognition cameras - not limited to street cameras that are to triple in numbers. Also car number plate camera scanners will track you - but when black boxes are introduced with GPS tracking you are their slave 100%

No guns, no legal weapon to defend your life - but the state has it all over you, for your own illusion of safety and security, how many times does history have to repeat for us to say enough! All stand up and fight now! the state does not have to use violence and does not want to unless necessary this time, they will however use concentration camps or internment camps that are called illegal immigrant camps.
It is all here - already and a reality! There is no escape so we better all face it and stand up to the enemy! Not be slaves ans submit to freedom killing lifeless institutional authoritarian elite.

++++ NO2ID SUPPORTERS' NEWSLETTER NO.93 - 13th March 2008 ++++
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ID SCHEME - REPACKAGED TO MAXIMISE COERCION
Don't be fooled, contrary to reports in the media, the government is
very much pressing ahead with its ID scheme - it has simply repackaged it.
Last Thursday the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith launched the ID scheme
'Delivery Plan', much of which NO2ID had already revealed via annotated
leaked documents that have now spread all over the internet. It is clear
that the aim is to grab as much data as possible as quickly as possible,
to try and coerce or dupe as many people as possible into being enrolled
on the ID database (the 'National Identity Register'), with the aim of
making universal registration seem inevitable.
To help this plan along the Home Office has repackaged its proposals to
hide the less palatable parts of the system. Its approach will be more
subtle, less aggressive (except for those who face losing their job if
they refuse to be registered) in the hope that they will be fooled into
"choosing" a lifelong regime of red tape, fines and inconvenience.
From November, non-EEA (European Economic Area) foreign national
students or those on a marriage visa will be compelled to have ID cards.
In 2009 airside staff at UK airports will be issued with ID cards - most
likely as part of the vetting process, to make it seem like less of a
big deal to those affected. Next, young people will be encouraged to
sign up "voluntarily", perhaps with pre-filled forms ready to sign and
return and a list of alleged benefits if they join the ID club...
This repackaging conceals the reality - once on the National Identity
Register, you are on for life. All of the penalties and fines for not
keeping your data up to date or accurate will kick in, and you will be
numbered forever.
We need to redouble our efforts - get the message out to the
government's prime targets such as young people and show that you'd have
to be mad to choose to go on the Register. None of the government's
benefits hold up and it is trying to hide all of the horrors of the system.
To do all of this we need your help.
- If you haven't already joined NO2ID, please do (an application form
can be found at http://www.no2id.net/getInvolved/join.php).
- Alternatively you can make a donation to the campaign (see
http://www.no2id.net/getInvolved/donate.php).
- Get involved with your local group, or if there isn't one in your area
then set one up (see http://www.no2id.net/localGroups/).
- Make the NO2ID pledge - an act of pre-emptive resistance that is
entirely legal and encourage others to do the same (more info at
http://www.no2id.net/pledge/).
We have to make sure that NOBODY is fooled by the government's
sugar-coated spin.
++ THANKS FOR ID DOSSIER RESPONSES ++
Many thanks to all of those that responded to our request for volunteers
willing to send us information on the questions being asked by the
Identity & Passport Service (IPS) when applying for a first adult
passport. We still need more information. Since we asked for people to
come forward in the last newsletter we are now able to offer even better
advice as to how to obtain information. If you are applying for your
first UK passport or if you've been called in for interview then you can
help. Please contact passports@no2id.net

their positions on The Database State. How do candidates feel about the
civil liberties and privacy implications of, among other things, the
Oyster Card, congestion charging, telephone parking? Would they support
or oppose national ID schemes as mayor? What is their attitude to the
database state? Prospective candidates Gerrard Batten (UKIP), Sian Berry
(Green), Lindsay German (Respect), Boris Johnson (Conservative), and
Brian Paddick (LibDem) have indicated interest in participating already.
Anyone willing and available to volunteer as a steward at the hustings

+ LOCAL GROUPS NEWS +
We now have local groups in 44 of the 69 proposed locations for
interrogation centres - of which just 3 have yet to open. Parliamentary
answers indicate that the most active centres are: Belfast, Birmingham,
Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Newport,
Peterborough and Sheffield.
As of the end of January 2008, 22 of the centres had performed fewer
than 10 interrogations. There may still be time to apply for your first
adult passport without being called in for an official grilling - but,
if you are, your details still won't be going onto the National Identity
Register. It isn't built yet.
For information on your nearest interrogation centre, see
www.no2id.net/getInvolved/idCentres.php. If you can help set up a local
group in one of the remaining locations, or anywhere else in the UK,
please contact Matty on local.groups@no2id.net
+ Birmingham +
The Birmingham NO2ID group held their first meeting on Monday 25th

Register and potential future activities including leafleting, a DVD
screening and a practical workshop looking at how to structure letters
of protest.

Jamie Hepburn MSP talks to Edinburgh group
Last week, Scottish National Party MSP Jamie Hepburn addressed NO2ID
Edinburgh as part of the group's series of presentations by members of
the Scottish Parliament talking about their position on ID cards.
Hepburn is the convener of the parliamentary cross-party group on Human
Rights and Civil Liberties, who had led for the SNP in the Scottish
Parliament Civil Liberties debate in December. He gave a strong reprise
of his speech there. Incidentally that anti-ID card motion was carried
64-1 with 60 Labour and Conservative members abstaining, the former
shamefully interpreting opposition to ID cards simply as an attack on
the Labour Party.

Report from Southampton NO2ID
We have had a busy couple of weeks. In the wake of the government
announcements we were successful in getting interviews on Wave 105 FM
and Radio Solent. Student members are working on forming a University
Club so that we can canvass and agitate on Campus. Letters and
information packs including a pledge, a survey form and a draft council
motion, have been sent out to all Southampton, Eastleigh and Test Valley
councillors. Contacts from this have revealed that the Chief Constable
of Hampshire is against ID Cards and Conservatives are putting an
anti-ID card motion to Southampton full council meeting this week. We
will be pressing the councillors to support this motion and will
continue to work to raise the issue of ID Cards at the May local
government elections.

+ Government release multiple ID reports +
In the last fortnight the government released a slew of ID card reports
and policy documents. They are clearly trying to swamp the public with
an excess of information and burying bad news, whilst try to rebrand
their ID scheme. Don't be fooled, the ID scheme and the National
Identity Register are as bad as ever.

+ Crosby Review finally released +
The government has finally released the so called Crosby review of the
government's ID scheme. The report entitled 'Challenges and
opportunities in identity assurance' is authored by Sir James Crosby,
former chief executive of banking group HOBS. The Crosby review began in
September 2006, was due by Easter 2007, was then "being finalised" in
early July, then due "late summer" 2007 etch. When it was finally
released last week the government just happened to release their ID
scheme delivery plan at the same time. Crosby criticises the
government's approach to ID and suggests an alternative ID system, that
many have described as a banker's vision of an ID scheme.
For more details see http://www.no2id.net/newsblog/?p=792
+ NO2IDs media coverage around the country+
Last week as the government released their ID scheme delivery plan NO2ID
groups around the country were able to get media coverage all over the
country. Local groups worked together to get press releases out prior to
the announcement and fielded radio, press and TV interviews on the day
of the delivery plan's release. Well done to all of those in the local
groups involved in handling the media. Early indications suggest that
NO2ID got around 700 media mentions, the number of web visitors shot up
considerably as did requests for information and newsletter sign ups.
Clearly a lot of people weren't taken in by the government's spin.

The States' ID War with Washington
By Karen Tumulty/Washington
Governors and state legislatures across the country are balking at a new federal requirement that they begin issuing more secure driver licenses and identification for their citizens, which require proof that they are legal residents of the country. If there is no resolution come May, people who live in states that are not in compliance may find that their state-issued driver licenses and ID cards are of no use when they need to board an airplane or enter a federal building. "We are not bluffing on this date of May 11," says Homeland Security Department spokeswoman Amy Kudwa.
At issue is the REAL ID Act, passed by Congress with almost no debate in 2005, requiring states to add costly new security features, including a harder-to-forge design and additional layers of identity verification, to driver licenses and other government-issued identification. One of the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, it aims to prevent terrorism and reduce the chances of counterfeiting. "The 9/11 hijackers obtained 30 different driver's licenses and IDs, and used 364 aliases," Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff has noted. "For an extra $8 per license, REAL ID will give law enforcement and security officials a powerful advantage against falsified documents, and it will bring some peace of mind to citizens wanting to protect their identity from theft."
But it won't be that easy, practical or cheap, say the states. In South Carolina, for instance, Governor Mark Sanford warns it will mean residents will have to pay $60 for driver licenses that are good for eight years, rather than the $25 they are now paying for 10-year licenses. And they may find themselves standing in line for up to two hours to obtain those licenses, rather than the 15-minute waits they now experience. So outraged are the states that legislatures in South Carolina, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington have passed laws banning their agencies from complying with the act, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures; Idaho thumbed its nose at the law by appropriating $0 for its implementation this year.
The four states that are objecting the most, however, are South Carolina, Montana, New Hampshire and Maine. The four have thus far ignored a March 31 deadline to seek an extension that would technically put them in compliance with the law for up to two years. If they fail to meet the deadline, that means starting May 11 their citizens would not be allowed to use identification from those states to board aircraft or enter government buildings. If they lack any other acceptable ID, they would be subjected to additional security screening that would make travel an extra hassle.
The chief issue, states say, is the estimated $4 billion cost of the law over the next 10 years, which comes at a time when state budgets are already stressed to the breaking point. So far, the feds have provided only $380 million in grants to offset those costs. "How dare they not pay for it?" Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell told TIME. "The cost is 12 days of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan."
Last Thursday, Rendell, South Carolina's Sanford and the governors of Delaware, Nevada and Arizona held a heated conference call with Chertoff to air their complaints. And that same day, the National Governors Association sent letters to President Bush, the House and Senate leadership and congressional appropriators demanding: "If the federal government is going to direct state security practices over traditional state functions such as driver's licenses and identification cards, then the federal government should pay the states' cost of compliance." The question, however, is which cost will be higher for the states: Paying for the new cards, or listening to the complaints of people who suddenly discover that air travel has become even more unpleasant. _________________ ... we are in process of developing a whole series of techniques which will enable the controlling oligarchy who have always existed and presumably will always exist to get people to love their servitude. British ID cards to revolutionise crime
quote: According to Simon Davies, Privacy International's Director, criminals now have access to technology almost as sophisticated at that used by governments so that "even the most highly secure cards are available as blanks weeks after their introduction.
"The ramifications of an ID card conform to the dynamics of the black market economy. Whenever governments attempt to introduce an ID card, it is always based on the aim of eliminating false identity," Davies said.
"The higher the stated 'integrity' (infallibility) of a card, the greater is its value to criminals and illegal immigrants. A high-value card attracts substantially larger investment in corruption and counterfeit activity. The equation is simple: higher value ID equals greater criminal activity."
The government says a national ID card will combat the growing problem of identity theft, in which a person's identity is fraudulently acquired for criminal purposes. It is a huge problem in the US, made all the worse because of the ubiquitous Social Security Number. Critics of national ID proposals in the US have warned that any central ID number massively increases the incidence of identity theft. Privacy International supports this view, and predicts that any national ID system will increase identity theft in the UK to US proportions.
THE MORE ID WE HAVE = MORE CRIME THERE IS!!! PROVEN!
£1.7 bn a year to let ID THEFT - FRAUD SKYROCKET! Now think how worse it will get with ID cards!

Even DNA samples are not 100% - several people have been wrongly accused over the years because they only test small sample and do not even test the complete sample, same applies ot flawed biometrics - seriously flawed and always will be!

We know they do not prevent or stop terrorism but actually help fund terrorism using ID fraud/theft!
We know that ID cards do not prevent ID Theft!
There is no use - totally unnecessary and only useful for terrorists!
No wonder the state wants it!

This is old news yet (very serious and existing) the state ignore it all and go ahead with it anyway! Look at the BA Airport terminal problems - always have problems in the UK with the crap they do. Always forewarned, always cause a disaster even still.
Terrorism will now start as will ID fraud ID theft will rise like crazy! All caused by ID cards and consolidation of all personal data on one central database, including all health records. Accessible over the Internet. Sold to corporations of the world....now that is (false) security.

Now with EU reports directly leaked from EU Commission that ID cards do not fight crime of any kind! We know it will only increase it! What terrorist would not feel more encouraged or have more confidence when having an ID card....passing through security checks with ease and approval!
The banks told (sold us lies) us chip and pin debit credit cards were more secure! They are not - many people have had their cards info stolen, decrypted and account emptied.
Hackers will always be far more advanced, they are the ones to create the software code in the first place. The ones to find all security problems, the ones to solve them and find newer security holes, and the ones that can ultimately work for terrorists sponsored by state. _________________ http://home.comcast.net/~plutarch/PoliceState.html
