BRITAIN is set to be wiped off the map in a shocking new overhaul of the European Union, the Tories warn.
Under secret plans by Brussels bureaucrats, the UK would be carved up into three administrative regions governed from the Continent.
In effect, Britain would disappear altogether as a recognised nation.
Fresh evidence of collusion between Whitehall officials and Brussels Eurocrats over the scheme emerged last night on the eve of St George’s Day.
It is bound to provide yet more ammunition to Euro sceptic critics who feel EU integration has gone too far. Senior Tory Eric Pickles said: “Gordon Brown literally wants to wipe Britain off the map”.
Mr Pickles, Shadow Local Government and Communities Secretary, obtained new details in ministerial responses to Parliamentary written questions.
The plan would divide England between three EU regions to be overseen by new “transnational” regional assemblies.
The “Manche Region”, named after the French for the English Channel, would combine southern England with northern France.
The “Atlantic Region” seeks to link the west of England, Wales and western Scotland with Ireland and parts of Portugal, Spain and France.
And the “North Sea Region” is planned to include the east of England and eastern Scotland with parts of Denmark, the Netherlands and Flemish Belgium. Each region would be overseen by one of three regional assemblies, to be based in France, Portugal and Denmark.
Supporters insist it will promote cross-border co-operation on economic development.
But critics fear that the assemblies are bound to threaten national independence.
Mr Pickles predicted the regions would absorb the unelected regional assemblies throughout England.
He said: “I fear that Labour’s model of imposing unelected and unaccountable regional assemblies in England will be a blueprint for the creation of these Euro regions.
“Taxpayers’ money is being wasted on vanity and white elephant Euro projects designed to weaken our local and national identities. We already knew that Gordon Brown had hosted the white flag of surrender to the European Constitution.
Now the Labour Government has been caught red-handed, conspiring with European bureaucrats to create a European superstate via the back door.” The “Interreg IV” plan has circulated in Brussels for several years. An EU directive was agreed two years ago to press ahead. Now the pace is being stepped up.
The assemblies – of unelected officials – are already being set up.
It was also revealed Whitehall civil servants attended an event to “launch” the Atlantic Region in Rouen, France in January. EU maps of the regions do not even mention the names Britain or England.
A spokesman for the Department for Communities and Local Government said: “This is about working with other member states to help ensure European Regional Development Funding supports projects that will really make a difference to our economy and quality of life – particularly in the most deprived areas.
“It has nothing to do with altering names on maps.”

Forums and talk like this are illegal under EU laws - they also ban videos online and have to all pre censored before they are approved for publishing or use online. Just one of the trillions of censorship and coverage the EU has as part of outlawing freedom. EU powers are transnational and this also means in right up to foreign and international waters.

Anyone that wishes to stay in the UK by which time needs their heads testing. Unless of course we take the EU, UK, German, French governments to court.
Gordon Brown is not mandated to even be in power let alone sign paper contracts or laws, treaties, constitutions. He has committed the worst crime in the world - TREASON and continues to seal the deal. Now he will order the Queen to sign the treaty in due time, the Queen can refuse but never does - I mean she lets him illegally be in power, now all this proves is that 1 man or woman in power is insane! What they are allowed to do! It needs to be law for at least one Referendum each month if such laws are being made, and No dictated instructions to vote YES or NO in volume of 150 laws at a time in reforms of laws at EU parliament, shows how corrupt the EU is, probably the most corrupt Empire in all world history - more corrupt than their first Roman Empire.

Over 97% of it is funded by the EU. UK need to pull out and stop propping up 26 plus states of EU! We lose billions per year in trade alone, excluding all other billions we send them.
