This really cracks me up, did nobody read deborah's post @cc ?

Thermit, I went looking for the canex reply to the scientist solicited by Jay to comment on trails..is it still there ? and if it is why is it not in "contrail factors"...

BTW, Sf6 has a atmospheric lifespan of 3000 years, 100 of your generations won't see the end.

I finally got around to reading it! Thanks, seeker and Deborah. It is an interesting compilation of available information, which first led me to distrust the carnicom/thomas view of contrails, from the very start. The sources of funding for all this "study" and the politics involved, gives me, my current opinion, which is more aligned with the seeker/reynolds/nodedebunker trend of thinking. It is a lot to chew on! Isn't it? There is an element of irony, in the means to the end. |

If a few of the greens would have to work outside during the summer they may not take such a slanted approach to "extra" clouds...
I would ceratinly say deborah can put good links together , however it is unfortunate that she has a hard time defending her philosophy....takes guts and personal fortitude to defend your beliefs....unless you don't really believe them....

"Defend" what, Seeker - and to whom? "Philosophy"? As in "belief system"? Sorry - I am not tied to such concepts.
Any links I "put together" have been READ word for word prior to posting to be absolutely sure that they will, in fact, have some relevance to the issue at hand. The links you refer to represent a month's work on my part, the least of which was "putting them together" and printing the material for reading/marking up on the bus, in bed at 1:00am, on the can, etc. etc. etc.
I don't feel I have to "defend" material which obviously speaks very well for itself.
By the way, I'm not as irritated as I sound here - just tired, I think, of the reality that there is really very little space in this world to freely explore a serious issue without eliciting the *judgment* of people who don't even know who I am. This is the artist speaking.

Scientists have found rising concentrations of a newly identified gas in the air that traps heat more effectively than all other known greenhouse gases, the dozens of compounds released by industry and the burning of fuels that act like a greenhouse roof and may be warming the global climate.
The synthetic gas is extremely rare, so far reaching concentrations just over one-tenth of one part per trillion of air, according to a paper published today in the journal Science.
But it still poses potential problems, the paper's authors say, because concentrations of the gas are rising quickly, the gas probably takes more than 1,000 years to break down and its source -- although certainly from human activity -- is a mystery.
"So far, there is far too small a quantity to be of concern," said William T. Sturges, atmospheric chemist at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, and the study's principal author. "But I wouldn't want to see it enormously increased."
The study provides the latest evidence of the global reach of pollution and the sometimes unintended consequences of industrial activity, said many chemists familiar with the report. Advance copies of the paper circulated this week by e-mail.
Some chemists said yesterday that it was possible that the gas was being used secretly in military equipment. A similar gas, sulfur hexafluoride, or SF6 , is on lists of chemicals used in electronics, weapons and for other military purposes.<<
...why is sulfur hexafluoride being so liberally utilized as a "tracer" to quantify the transport of atmospheric pollutants if it is, according to the EPA, "the most powerful greenhouse gas measured to-date."

Deborah, You have done a huge amount of reading and posting information regarding these areas of interest. Have you encountered any obstacles or deletions in your efforts to post? I saw some of your posts deleted at carnicom, but they also were edited by you. Why? |

I know the ones you're talking about. They are under the "City Water Supply" thread. The person who started that thread requested that posted replies be limited to the specific issue of elevated barium levels in drinking water, so, in "Edit" mode, I deleted my somewhat-related posts, put "Deleted" in the topic lines, and moved the posts to another thread.
No, I have never had any trouble posting at Clifford's other than when the board was inaccessible to all, for whatever reason. |

I was just trying to draw you out....ain't I a stinker ! The only inference I was really making was how most of the established posters have posted nothing in public forums for a great long while, drummerboy came out of the closet recently, reaffirming how likemind people need a place to think,think about this...a glass of water is just that, however a shirley temple has grenadine, 7up, ice and two marchino cherries.....get it !
