Ahh yes...Mark- ever the discerning skeptic of scientific fact- good on you!
Did you really want to sit there for 2 hours whilst the contrail spread on your computer screen?? It is just an app- designed to give an idea (you did drag the red dot around for different parameters?? )...did you read the corresponding text where it said:
"If you are attentive to contrail formation and duration, you will notice that they can rapidly dissipate or spread horizontally into an extensive thin cirrus layer."
...and then showed satellite pictures of contrails that they followed for 3.5 hours??

What is neat about that app is you can change the parameters in mid flight and create gaps in the trail!!
funny...they do not mention anything about turning on and off the sprayer.  |
