T/S, Here's a site that has lots of info about the solar wind dealy...It didn't stop totally, but to an astounding degree, it was way down. http://www.best.com/~handpen/Bios/comes.htm I hope I got it right. A web search for Solar Wind Stop eventually spit out some sites about it also. I can't stand the guy who runs the site because of personal run in, but he does have very excellent sites and info...no denying that. Good luck, Blessings all, Joanne ^j^ P.S. I could have swore I heard "other" solar wind event that was more recent, but guess not. J. |

I don't think the sun looks the same at all, and I don't mean by simple observation. I have pored through older pictures of the sun and they do not look like this>:

Penumbra, one of the reasons that picture looks scary is that it was taken in the wavelength of soft x-rays (~1-200Å). Here is a picture showing how the sun currently looks when you view it through a conventional telescope at a typical visual wavelength of 6767Å.

Thanks 3T3. I usually look at all of the solar data, and I have looked at the NOAA archives as well. That picture is a little scarier than most! but I do think that something is going on with our Star. Beyond the scope of a 22-year cycle. |

Total saturation.
Ionized metal particulate matter.
The sun is still yellow.
It's the air you breath that has been forever changed. |

I have thought so for a couple years but everyone I mention it to thicks I am nuts. It looks whiter and brighter too me also. Also feels hotter on the skin to me and I have been looking at it for 50 years?

"It is the Sun that drives this whole sequence of events. The first noticeable error was NASA calling the current "Cycle 23" a typical 11 year cycle. This has proven to be inaccurate and further use of NASA's formula appears to be way out of step with current unfolding events. I would suggest we are in a "Mega Cycle" which supersedes any known cycle of today. I would suggest the current cycle we are witness to today, will unfold over a much longer period of time. Perhaps this cycle occurs ever hundreds of thousands of years."

Poison, welcome to the forum! I heard you're not supposed to look at the sun for more than a second or two...
