"Sean" did not achieve Hurricane classification and is headed out to the northeast Atlantic, presenting no threat to the United States.

As the 2011 Hurricane Season rolls on near its end, the East Pacific waters have spawned a rare late season Major class system which has earned the name Hurricane "Kenneth".
This system is presently being clocked holding a Major CAT 4 classification in the waters off the southwest coast of Mexico and it is moving west out to sea for now, fortunately away from land where it is forecast to meet its demise in colder waters facing atmospheric forces which are currently stacked up against it.
With only 8 official days left to this years season we are forced to continue to WATCH!!!

Kenneth is Now a Major Hurricane

Nov 22, 2011 6:22 AM

Kenneth has become a major Category 3 Hurricane early this morning. The storm is over the open ocean and is no threat to any land masses. Kenneth is moving west and is expected to continue on this general path over the next couple of days. During the second half of the week, the storm will move over cooler ocean water as well as into an area of increased wind shear, so a weakening trend is expected later in the week.

Elsewhere across the Eastern Pacific, there are no tropical systems, and none are expected to develop during the next 48 hours.

What a difference a day makes, in just less than 24 hours "Kenneth" revved up to a Major CAT 4 class Hurricane here in late November, then back down to what is presently being clocked at a CAT 1 system, making it the post power hurricane in the region ever recorded this late in the season. The system is declining rapidly as it progresses into less than favorable conditions, and the experts expect it to continue to lose intensity over the next few days. But what a show it was......

Kenneth Weakening

Nov 23, 2011 8:30 AM

Kenneth has weakened to a Category 2 hurricane and will continue quickly weakening over the next two days as it moves toward less favorable conditions. It is heading over cooler ocean water with more upper-level wind shear. For a time Tuesday, it was a Category 4 storm, making it the strongest storm on record so late in the season across the eastern North Pacific basin.

Elsewhere across the Eastern Pacific, there are no tropical systems, and none are expected to develop during the next 48 hours.

Today is the official last day of the 2011 Hurricane Season. Thank GOD!
Although there were many storms this year few made hurricane status, and of those most were not any extreme threats to land areas, again we give thanks.
The watch will continue on to monitor any post season storms and/or anomalies that may develop.
Still WATCHING!!!
