The GOES-West satellite shots at the University of Washington site only remain active for about a week (see list):
http://www.atmos.washington.edu/data/weather.html#satellite
No conspiracy on this one.
I edited the original shots to limit the file size (100 KB requested limit) and loaded them into the CT Central image gallery.
Thank you Thermit for making this space available.

The Aug 10, 2003 version of the Valley City, Ohio Frog Jump is dedicated in honor of Jay Reynolds. ... Jay has been handling frogs for many of the 42 years of the Valley City Jump! In fact, he and some helpers, including Boy Scout Troop 502, caught the very first frogs. This was in 1962 during the Sesquicentennial. Jay has learned and forgotten more about frogs than most of us will ever know. His devotion to and care of frogs led to his nickname of Mr. Frogman. His vast knowledge led to his conducting a Frog School at the last several Jumps, passing on information to the next generations of jumpers.
Picture of Jay at the link. He is third from the right. http://www.valleycity.org/jayreynolds.htm

Tried uploading this grab from Mark Sky but too many bytes and unfortunately, I don't have imaging resizing software. FLKook, our Image Data Base Editor could handle that no problemo tho...(***If she were around I could ask her )

Today, you can watch the ships looping off the coast of sothern california here http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Medford/sat/fog4km_loop.html
Thanks to Lulu ( and your helper) for posting the image of todays "fog channel" these ship tracks are not visible on the visable channel.
I ran the time progression loop in the URL above at lunch and you can see these trails slowly looping there way in arches.

Nice loop! Good link you posted. I don't have a helper...FLKook is MIA mark--that's why the margins are blown...at least I think it was me who blew them...it's not the image size 640x480 that is doing it, I believe, it's the byte size 211053 which is too big to upload, that is why it is linked to, and not uploaded. The NOAA sat pic uploaded by Wise Quakker is same image size, but less bytes only 77332, which didn't blow the margins
