When is it all going to stop?
Next week they'll be banging on your door asking to give a breathalyzer to everyone inside. Anybody that blows a .08 or higher is going to be hauled off to jail. They're going for a full on prohibition of alcohol is what they are trying to do, slowly, one step at a time, and I guess nobody is trying to stop them either. I'm afraid it is almost too late. Not just for alcohol consumption, but for everything. I'm not a big fan of the tobacco industry either, but all these new bans on smoking. A lot of towns now have zero tolerance bans on smoking in public. I can understand banning smoking in malls, restaurants, places where there are children, inside government buildings, airports etc. But once we start arresting people for smoking outdoors on public streets, in bars, and even in their own cars, I think that is taking things way to far. |

I heard the Minnesota prisons are at full capacity right now.
I guess they still want to pack more in.
WE ARE THE TERRORSISTS...remember that. |

Zoob,
It'll stop when we say STOP!!!!! This is political correctness in it's most devolved. A strange irony is this..A lot of my old hippie friends from the 60's quit Ja Weed because they were afraid of being busted, and took up drinking, thinking it's safer. They are now pushing PROZAC for 6 year olds! SOMA!!!!!!!!! Keep the masses quiet and drugged.

Seig Heil ein Fuhrer!
That seems to be most of the American public's mantra at this point.
With hours and hours of TELEVISION indoctrination it's really no suprise.
No wonder they want to shut down the internet. |

NWO is caught in a precarious position. If they shed their "friendly fascist" disguise and ban the internet and pirate/short wave radio, it'll be obvious what their up to. It is creeping upon us....step by step...inch by inch....Niagara Falls!
The banning of the internet, I feel, will be through out of bounds payments. Only big corporations will be able to afford it. This way, they can always say, "Well, if you have enough money. We're not REALLY banning it".
Short Wave/Pirate Radio/Passing notes and discs may be the last outpost. |

This is just the next phase of workplace drug testing. I hear some companies will test your blood and hair for non-state approved intoxicants. What's next! Pooping in a pot to see what you ate the night before? Or in some people's cases, 5 days before. |

I predict they will figure out a way to have a "spinal tap" like drug test to see what you have used all the way back to age 16 or whatever.
They will figure out a way to make all of US guilty, while they do their dirtywork. |

well I agree with bout everything said here...they can't put everyone in jail...they have to legalize pot someday...maybe that's why small business is booming because folks are tired of peeing in a cup !
I only piss tested once in 94'...went in after I blew a good one out in the parking lot and still got hired...those were the daze...

They won't legalize the marajuana hemp plant untill we have a constitutional government. We haven't had one probably longer than any of us have been alive. |

Alaska has the same status as the other "medical" marijuana states. The Feds are the problem. It is still illegal up in the Klondike according to Washington. I hear Canada is about to de-crim less than 30 grams. |

You can count me in on that "quit out of fear" Swamp Gas. I enjoyed smoking pot a lot.
It was the only way I could even get interested in the most boring of subjects at school. I could smoke a bit and "get in to it". Mundane chores such as house or yard work were much more tolerable with a little weed. I know those commercials always show some one who lived over his folk’s garage watching TV till he was thirty but that is a lie. Most stoners I knew smoked and got outdoors. We played frisbee, we went fishing, we went hiking. We did not turn in to heroin or coke addicts. I got great grades in school, I worked out and still do. I bought some of the best pot I ever smoked from a Major when I was in the Army, I went to college and I'm extremely healthy. I smoked for 20+ years, with fear of getting caught from being forced in to illegal transactions the only downside I could see. Since I usually grew my own I wasn’t even supporting the CIA drug runners, terrorists, or anyone else.
The only problem was that the risk reward ratio flipped as I became more established and had more to loose. Moving from a de-crim state (Maine) to zero tolerance hell was a big deciding factor. Not willing to loose my business, my rental properties, my home, by boat, my cars, that I had worked my whole life to accumulate or my freedom, I quit. That was several years ago and I’m still pissed at feeling pushed in that decision.
I hate tobacco, never smoked the stuff. Used to tell my friends it was a waste of good lung capacity. Why smoke something you can't get off on. I hate it when people smoke while I'm trying to enjoy a meal. I would like to have a drink in a bar without coming home stinking of the stuff. That said. I do not believe it is anyone's right to ban smoking from anywhere unless it is the owner of the establishment. Let the free market rule.
Why can't both smoking and non-smoking establishments exist. I will spend my money where I want, smoker's can spend their money where they want. I can choose to work in a non-smoking business. Smoking companies can hire those that productively puff away at their desks.
Rant over.

I was an all-state pitcher from 1967-1969 for Wood-Ridge High, NJ. We won the division championship. Our entire pitching staff would go after practice, get buzzed, and listen to Hendrix, Iron Butterfly, Cream, Beatles, and Lothar & the Hand People. It did nothing to hinder our performance. You're right Kook, one has an urge to go outdoors and commune, and next to acid, Muggles is the best for sex. Remember Doc Ellis pitching a no-hitter in 1970, melting on acid, watching the trails of the ball going to the catchers mitt?
I still go back to the linear vs exponential issue on drugs. Linear people gravitate towards linear drugs (cocaine, alcohol, speed, tranquilizers). Exponential people go toward exponential drugs (Pot, shrooms, acid, XTC, peyote). One brain lobe (right) likes exponential, the other (left) likes linear. When humans first starting getting high, there has been this dichotomy. This has always been the case. The Linears will protect there mode of intoxication by jailing the exponentials. Look at the Inquisition. The priests, who consumed alcohol, persecuted the witches, who were eating shrooms and using herbs, because they were competition for them. Can't have women doing something that a bunch of tight ass blue noses on the culture board can't do.
I say, live and let live. Consume whatever you want to in the privacy of your home. Just stay off the road.
