Who is "us"?

You are a Greek citizen.

You should worry about the rise of red communists in your country and the European Union and its terrible laws about to be heaped on your country, instead of worrying about our constitution.

anyone not 100% native american should not need to be reminded that all American citizens (or their forebears) were citizens of other countries first.

I would eliminate the first 13 words of the 2nd Amendment.
The ones the NRA skip over when they read it;
and add "the Liberty Amendment" as illustrated below*

BTW/ Wayne LaPierre has never been an advocate of gun rights. (that was his mask/front)
IMHO he has always been a Republican agent provocateur.
A role he made clear when he refused to back a national concealed carry law.

As for the rest.
All anyone needs to do is actually read the entire document.
It is written in plain english/ not lawyerese.

It is a clearly worded specific document which has served us well and need not be changed, except as provided within itself.

IMHO, when you read the actual document, spurious arguments quickly resolve themselves in light of the facts.

BTW amendments are not separate from the main body of the Constitution, and never have been:

The Supreme Court (before Bush) ruled many times that the Declaration of Independence is a virtual (spirit of the law) part of the US Constitution.

I personally, would want that codified in specific words to be included among the Amendments; especially the part us Liberals and Libertarians consider sacred writ:
(perhaps as a part two of a revised 2nd Amendment:

If Wayne LaPierre, or anyone else, REALLY supported rights of law abiding gun owners;
they should support that suggested amendment above all others!
