Take Us, or Leave Us
Wednesday, June 04, 2003
By Neil Cavuto
I hate to break it to you, but the world doesn't flip over this country, my friends. The latest proof is an exhaustive 20-nation survey of some 16,000 people put out by the Pew Research Center (search) that confirms what I've long suspected: We aren't liked.
It goes from contempt in Jordan, where only one percent of those surveyed expressed a favorable opinion of the United States, to mild hatred in Indonesia and Turkey -- where 15 percent felt the same way -- to general distrust in Germany and France.
Big surprise. But here's the kicker: In Indonesia, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority, more people had confidence in Usama bin Laden to "do the right thing in world affairs."
You've got to be kidding me!
Majorities in NATO countries want less dependence on the U.S.
They don't like us. Call it the war. Call it Bush's cowboy style. Call it whatever you want, they want to see and hear less of us.
I say, have it your way. You don't like us, you won't have to put up with us.
Indonesia, you have no problem with Usama bin Laden? Then give him a call after the next terrorist attack in your country, courtesy of Usama bin Laden.
Germany, you don't flip over our troops in your country? Then you protect your own damn country.
France, you think we're too heavy-handed? Well, don't look to us the next time you need a hand.
NATO friends don't like our NATO influence? Then try doing without our NATO money.
Arab friends don't think much of our going after a despot threatening the world? Let's see what you do the next time a despot threatens you.
You say we're too focused on terror? Well, see what you would do if terrorists were focused on flying planes into your buildings and killing your people and scaring your kids.
You have problems with our country, but you seem to have no problem with our money.
I'm not saying you have to like us. But consider very seriously what some of your own ungrateful lives would be like, without us.

Courtesy of the CIA more likely!
agency officers ...directed a campaign of bombings by Iranians posing as members of the Communist Party
Operation code-name: TP-AJAX
Coup 53 of Iran is the CIA's (Central Intelligence Agency) first successful overthrow of a foreign government.
But a copy of the agency's secret history of the coup has surfaced, revealing the inner workings of a plot that set the stage for the Islamic revolution in 1979, and for a generation of anti-American hatred in one of the Middle East's most powerful countries. The document, which remains classified, discloses the pivotal role British intelligence officials played in initiating and planning the coup, and it shows that Washington and London shared an interest in maintaining the West's control over Iranian oil.
The secret history, written by the CIA's chief coup planner, says the operation's success was mostly a matter of chance.
The operation, code-named TP-AJAX, was the blueprint for a succession of CIA plots to foment coups and destabilize governments during the cold war - including the agency's successful coup in Guatemala in 1954 and the disastrous Cuban intervention known as the Bay of Pigs in 1961. In more than one instance, such operations led to the same kind of long-term animosity toward the United States that occurred in Iran.
The history says , and planted articles and editorial cartoons in newspapers.
All history hath shown
that the CIA is the most likely origion of any terrorist bombing in any part of the world.
All history hath shown
that the rightwing fanatics are most likely to authorixe US agencies to spy on their own citizens, suppress dissent, imprison political adversaries on trumped up false charges...
thanks for posting your fascist dittohead nonsense RNC operatives.
It gives us real patriots a chance to post some truth in rebuttal to your RW propaganda..

Yep..overthrew the democratically elected Mohammed Mossadeg government and replaced him with the Shah of Iran who was so brutal towards his own people..he even killed of moderates in opposition. Leaving the Iranian people to opt for "not so moderate" government in the form of Iahtollah Homenii to get rid of the Shah.
