All the networks had gone over to national news & I was taping two of them.
I did however keep one TV on local coverage of 'Bush at Booker',
on FAUX-10's 'live coverage.
From the time Card whispered in his ear until the kids finished reading.
He just sat there.
He spoke no words to anyone, Made no calls, unless there were imaginary calls in his own head.
He just sat there, on camera, visibly doing nothing.
No orders to Card.
No rush offstage to order an alert & protect the nation.
He just sat there!
what went on in his mind?
what did his daydreams or fantasies contain.
Only Bush himself could tells what went on in his head while he just sat there and waited for the kids to finish.
The kids did finish and bush was introduced.
He got up, went to the podium and gave a short speech.

I have spoken to the Vice President, to the Governor of New York, to the Director of the FBI, and have ordered that the full resources of the federal government go to help the victims and their families, and to conduct a full-scale investigation to hunt down and to find those folks who committed this act.
Terrorism against our nation will not stand.
And now if you would join me in a moment of silence. May God bless the victims, their families, and America. Thank you very much.

well s!@# it's true...half the time I can't understand the point being made through all the hate and the other half the point cannot be understood by anyone other than larry or $#@#!...
that and this freakin' excruciatingly painful virus I picked up at basketball camp leaves me here at the pad rather than the lake enjoying the festivities...

I haven't been having a real exciting 4th either...(Can you tell?) I could've gone rafting down the American river with some liberal friends, but being that they've recently uncovered a few dead bodies in the river and I'm the only single blue hairy guy in the group, I declined. I'm a party pooper. Just lit off my illegal stash of bottle rockets and m-80s (obtained from my trips through WY and TX) for the neighborhood kids though. They loved it...(Don't tell the cops)

Good one Fast, I save my bottle rockets for my neighbor's dog. Not what you think, this dog barks and barks till no end. If I take a step or move a tool this dog barks like hell.
A dog whistle didn't do it, so I light off a rocket in the air, gunshy is the word. After one or two rockets the dog is silent for hours. |

No fireworks from me.
The kids (both young and old) lit off enough for everyone.
Neighbor's dog?
I just carried my neighbors collie up to their door and asked they keep her inside for awhile.
She had jumped the fence and was in my yard
seeking my protection & flinching at every new pop as if it were gunfire.
Said neighbor moved here from the projects, so the dog is probably familiar with gunfire.
Dog only barks at people who are not in the neighborhood daily.
Best alarm system.
No cost to me except making sure my securitycam/VCR is taping, in case the interlopers are indeed "bad actors".
Black, white, asian, hispanic, we are all Americans here, (in my neighborhood) and all on the same side, despite petty arguments over politics.
Same as it should be on the web.
As Jack Kemp (Kemp/Dole96) said:

(of course that was before dubya suspended the Constitution with that "patriot" act)
