I have no idea, but I have seen it many times myself. By the way Tuscaloosa has been sprayed regularly again for a couple of weeks now. They have been spraying at a lower altitude.Could the cooler weather have anything to do with that?

Could be caused by cooler weather.

The assymetric trail is probably something as simple as the a/c engines running at slightly different EGT's.

Definately not any type of tip vortex. The aircraft wing isn't under sufficient load to produce that in less than almost saturated air. Can only be a difference in engine parameters. Bare in mind a simulated engine failure for training purposes can and will be carried out at various heights.

Incidently we were contrailing today at 25000', something to do with heavily saturated air in an extremely low pressure system. Oh and I hadn't turned my Chemtrail switch on.

Thanks for the observation.

No switch for you even if you were military, the switch club is pretty exclusive

Even if I was military?

I regularly fly in support of various NATO exercises around the world. With various switch throwing involved

Falcon,

So your in the reserve ?

Interesting : "trailing at 25k"

As long as I have been around I don't ever recall that exact of a quote from a pilot..

What may be a valid concern, is that the 'parameters' for contrail production may be changing....

a full 5k below the accepted norms....

colder areas are existing more than a mile below previous measured levels ?

That info is very beneficial....

BTW the pic looked like a tail section..but on my new monitor, seems engine abnormality is the correct assumption....

comments are welcome....

No, i'm not in the reserve.

The trailing at 25k was in Europe in an extremely cold airmass of very low pressure.

5k below the "accepted norm" level? Our aircraft regularly trail from 27 or 28k upwards, why is 30k the "accepted level"?

30k ?

I don't know , that is the most common number that I have seen for contrail production....

I would swear I have seen them lower much lower but trying to visually judge distance from the ground is tough.....

I use the visible distinctions of the aircraft myself, when the craft is the size of a dime, and trailing I wonder....

T/S
