Lew Rockwell is behind the antiwar.com website, which provides a lot of useful political information, and which I used to hold in even higher regard until I saw how Justin Raimondo, one of the key people, is not interested in looking too closely into 9/11 and rather prone to simplistic "blame it all on the Israelis" notions.
As for the ideas on the UN, they are also present at antiwar.com and are current in that whole school of economic thinking that Rockwell represents. I am at the moment reading a book by G. Edward Griffith, "The Creater from Jekyll Island", which is more or less on the same wavelength. Opposed to the idea of central banks and currencies not backed by metals. It is well-written, stimulating and at times very funny.
There is not normally dialogue between these positions and socialist positions, just slanging matches and mutual misrepresentation.
The organization of which I am a member, ATTAC, favours the Tobin tax and global taxation. On the other hand it doesn't acknowledge chemtrails, and that to me is a problem.
Lew Rockwell doesn't acknowledge global warming, and that - I think - to any chemtrails activist, should also be a problem.
The United Nations is a step in front of Rockwell there, I would say. But I would agree that there does seem to be a profoundly undemocratic and even menacing side to the activities of the UN.
As far as Toni Thayer is concerned, I noted with approval a positive citation of Michael C. Ruppert at Toni Thayer's netsite. Ruppert is where I moved after becoming aware of the taboos and blindspots in operation at antiwar.com.
I think it is worth engaging Toni Thayer and perhaps Al Snow in dialogue. Internationalization of the debate could help overcome any remnants of overly ideological thinking that is still affecting them.

halva, I'm going to go ahead and move this thread over to Other Trails since it is more theory than hard science.

I am beginning to get the impression - I hope I am wrong - that councillor Al Snow is more interested in fighting the UN than in fighting chemtrails. |
