A gutwrenchingly passionate piece!
What is different now, is that the tables have been completely turned, and we are about to finally have to begin to pay the price that war demands, from those who chose war carelessly. Body bags are the first instance of failed political polices. In this case diplomacy was never even tried-because our anointed one, had talked to god and then decided, "WAR was what it had to be!" Never mind that there were laws about making those kinds of decisions. This mattered not to BUSH, because he was chosen above all men to bring freedom to the waiting world, despite the rights of other peoples, and the Constitution of the USA. Bush had his mission, and nothing as small as the US Congress or the courts were going to get between him and his mission: because he was chosen by god to do this. So Bush ordered the war to begin, but knowing nothing of war in reality, he didn't even begin to see this coming!
And what I will say is I didn't want this occupation! Didn't vote for it, didn't vote for them, didn't like it, protested it, and fought to kick the bastards out so that new more ethical more demoratic-loving, Constitutional-adoring, and peaceful people would turn the country around. The presidential hopeful for the other party, is posing as a hardliner at the moment to gain votes of the swing ignoramus voters who seem to feel that the responsiblity to rebuild Iraq involves our troops staying in Iraq. Actually all the responsiblity we have is monetary, so why not just send them money instead of sending them soldiers who give their lives and sanity to destroy more Iraqis? It's no more a war on terrorism than it was a war on terrorism when the colonists fought the British! Hussein is out and Halliburton should leave! Let the Iraqis pay the $#@#! a few pennies on the gallon and funnel more money for rebuilding and get the hell out while repairing our international relationships! Let our country suffer for allowing this to happen by jacking up our oil prices -- but don't institute a draft, ship more young men over to destroy more Iraqis and ship them back in boxes expecting stability, democracy, or less terorism there or around the world! Is it worth it? Will our tax dollars even stretch that far? It's a recipe for our own national suicide and the stupidity and cupidity is beyond my ability to tolerate! TREASON is a gentle word compared to what I'd like to do to these neocon lawbreakers and destroyers of nations, spirits, and lives.
And while we're at it, let's legalize drugs and privatize rehab/distribution clinics for small business and hospitals and take our money back from the CIA drug business and put it in the people's hands!
Throw in narrowing defense spending and funneling funds into alternative energies and leave the Middle East peoples alone!

Getting our COUNTRY BACK and stopping the draft FIRST should be priority one as far as i'm concerned.
Then we can worry about eco issues and such. |

There is a military draft coming in 2005. All young Americans should be alarmed, that their life is at risk like this. The Universal Military Training and Service Act of 2001 lays the groundwork for this new draft, which could be implemented as early as March 31st, 2005, and it calls for the draft to be ready for service within a period of 75 days. Listen closely. June 15th, 2005 could be the first activation of the military draft in over 30 years. Our government has already signed a treaty with both Mexico and Canada agreeing that they will not harbor draft dodgers, and will ship them back to America to be drafted, like sheep being led to slaughter.
I am an adolescent, nineteen years of age, who just wants to live. That is all. There are many like us all over the world, who just want to live a life, free from ignorance, free from violence, free from war. Why is this so hard? Why must there always be so much hatred, so much chaos, especially on the part of the so-called civilized world, and its leaders? Our leaders do not be able to comprehend the fact that violence and retaliation is not going to do a single thing, but inflame more violence.
This government corruption, this fascism, must be resisted. This is a mockery of what little freedom we have left in America. This society has treated us like slaves, like robots, and we have accepted this slavery with a smile on our face. We were all brainwashed into the impossible dreams that society has placed in our heads. We have been conditioned into ignorance, into blind conformity. Our society has attempted to destroy the human spirit. Our society has made a disgrace of everything beautiful and sacred.
Well, the tide is turning. A large number of Americans, especially youngsters, have woken up to the lies we have been fed. People are waking up, and realizing that our government and society does not have the right to tell them how to live their lives, or to blind them with ignorance. A great many people are angry. They are angry that our system has blinded so many others, and kept them content in their own ignorance. They are crying out for freedom, the freedom to simply live.
The truth is spreading, and it cannot be stopped. The fascists in control of our society may try, but they cannot contain truth, they cannot keep the ignorant sheep of America asleep for much longer. Our government fears that the majority will awaken, and realize how they have been enslaved, both mentally and physically, and this scares them. It scares them because they fear losing their power, and only god knows what ends they might deem necessary to retain that power. Martial law seems like a very likely method. What will you do, how will you feel, when you realize that a police state has been in the making for years, and you did nothing to stop it?
In a nation where the poor and old cannot afford health care, where the economy is falling apart, where 15 percent of people live below the poverty line, where hundreds of thousands are homeless, and where the entire mass media system is owned by six mega-media conglomerates; in a nation with the world's highest crime rate and world's largest prison population; in a nation where half of all marriages end in divorce, where 25 percent of kids under 12 live in poverty, and where the gulf between the rich and poor is growing everyday; in a nation that supports dictatorships in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey; in a nation where the government is plagued by corruption and fascism and 40 percent of the homeless are veterans; in a nation with one of the world's highest teen suicide and stress rates – you're telling me our biggest problems are terrorism and drugs?
I beg you, members of my generation, to wake up, and to not buy into the fascism that is being fed to you as democracy. Refuse to fight, refuse to fight for the lies that have blinded you, and blinded that of your brothers. Peace is the only answer, in a world gone this mad. Violence will do nothing to solve anything. Please, wake up now. Realize the truth. Resist. A new worldwide call for freedom is being heard. Will you join in, or simply remain apathetic, until you yourself are being enslaved? The time is now. |

Once again the power elite are instituting actual slavery, but this time not just over people of color but also over every young American aged 18 to 26, regardless of race or sex.
Don't like your daughter dying for oil money? That's okay, because she can still be forced against her will to serve for low pay as, well, ............anything that strikes the fancy of the Congressional representatives in committee that week.
Now we know why not one military funeral of a U.S. soldier from Iraq has been shown in the TV media, except that of a female. It forces us to think of women in combat roles. It also portends the government's plan for many more dead daughters to come. So as you change the diapers on your adorable baby girl, think of what a great killing machine your government will make of her, one day. Or a statistic on a Pentagon casualty report.
Think of why the government publik skool system is so heavy on teaching obedience to state authority and micromanaging students' personal lives. Same government.
Remember the name of Rep. Charles Rangel, D-NY. He's one of the NWO statists who sponsored this new slavery, this New Draft, titled the UNIVERSAL NATIONAL SERVICE ACT under HR 163 which calls for a MINIMUM slavery period of 2 years to the state, preferably in combat roles as moving targets in third-world countries. This is necessary to insert puppet governments friendly to US oil and trade interests. Almost no one sees the irony of a slave descendant conscripting slaves to make more slave states worldwide.
Conscientious objectors will have no out, this time around. Instead they will be assigned elsewhere as slaves to any location for a lot longer than 2 years, in reprisal for their refusal to support the killing of other poor kids. Remember, the National Service terms are for a "minimum" of 2 years. No maximum is mentioned.
Even if they change the Act's wording to say a "maximum of 2 years...," to placate outraged constituents, once the Act is passed they can change the period of involuntary servitude to even 20 years, if they only vote to do so.
All Americans need do is their usual nothing, for this evil to triumph. All they need do is ignore past government promises that our Social Security Numbers would never be used for personal identification and tracking, to accept the government lies they will now hear about the UNSA.
In the U.S. Senate, the UNIVERSAL NATIONAL SERVICE ACT is S 89. Remember also the name of U.S. Senator Fritz Hollings.
If you're wondering why the UNSA is being forced on us, remember that we have troops stationed in over a hundred different countries, supporting the installation of local agents who will bring about more profits to U.S. megacorporations, the "military-industrial complex" that President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us about. All this is being done in the name of a democracy that doesn't even exist in the USA. Yet think of what Patrick Henry said: "Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation?"
The rate of U.S. servicemen re-enlisting is at an all-time low. Those on leave from severe duty such as in Iraq are refusing to return, facing courts martial as a better alternative. So far the media is spiking any stories about our soldiers walking away in disgust because of being ordered to perform human rights atrocities, such as kidnapping the women and children of "terrorist" Muslim soldiers to force them to turn themselves in. Those U.S. soldiers wise enough to have kept evidence are given a quiet discharge with full benefits as long as they keep quiet.
Because they receive such dramatically poor treatment when wounded and their children suffering poverty because of an ungrateful government, U.S. military forces are rapidly shrinking. The cure for this by the Charlie Rangels and Fritz Hollings of the world is slavery, never equity. Instead of providing better dependent care, pay and benefits, especially to those servicemen and women who wind up in wheelchairs, these traitors to their oath of office have chosen instead to keep the dollars for their favorite porkbarrels. It's a lot cheaper and easier to institute the enslavement of our children and only pay an ad agency to sway Americans with false patriotism in measured soundbytes on the nightly news shows.
Our nation is on the brink of becoming a totalitarian state no different than any communist country, in making the state god over the lives of its citizens by enslaving them to any task that increases its central power. To do that, it must instill fear in its populace.

Those who care for the rights of poor black people, remember the names of Representatives Rangel, Ambercrombie, Conyers, Lewis (of Georgia), McDermott, Stark and Senator Hollings and each and every statist who is sponsoring the UNSA. Never vote for them again. If you can impeach them, so much the better. They serve not the people, but themselves. Ask yourself when rejecting the concept of the UNSA, "In service of whom?" Ask yourself what benefits humanity has reaped from every dead teenager who died in Viet Nam, in Afghanistan and in Iraq? Is your peace and safety any sweeter?
Slavery is SLAVERY, no matter how the statists and their sycophant media campaign to have us accept the yoke. It is slavery of black people AGAIN, pure and simple. That its misery is spread to other races as well does not remove the collars from our black children.
An unnamed Nation Of Islam spokesman has said that Charlie Rangel must be denounced and impeached for the race-traitor that he is, a black man voting FOR the slavery of his own people.
Rise UP. Call your congressional representatives and senators. DAILY. Or pay for your apathy not only with the freedoms of your children, but perhaps with their blood.

U.S. Use of Depleted Uranium Weapons Causes Dangerous Rise in Radiation Level in Iraq
TEHRAN (MNA) – Canadian research centers have reported that during the war against Iraq the U.S. military used depleted uranium (DU) weapons which caused the radiation level to rise at least 300 times above normal, and the weapons caused similar effects in Afghanistan.
U.S. troops have recently begun removing contaminated topsoil in Iraq, taking it to an unknown location.
Scientists believe the next generation of children of citizens of both countries exposed to DU will suffer from higher rates of birth defects and cancer.
The Uranium Medical Research Centre (UMRC) issued a report based on a 13-day survey throughout the primary conflict zones in urban and rural areas of central and southern Iraq on October 2003, according to Risq News.
The team performed radiation surveys, nuclide analysis, interviewed civilians and community leaders, collected biological and field samples, and investigated the possible health effects of depleted uranium contamination on Iraqi civilians.
According to the report, the U.S. has used uranium oxide deposits as strong explosives in common and fire bombs.
The most disturbing circumstance was observed in the U.S. occupied base in southwestern Baghdad in the Auweirj district. It is close to the international airport and hosts one of the largest coalition bases around Baghdad, occupying the operational headquarters of the Iraqi Special Republican Guard. The area was subject to considerable aerial bombing and rocket fire prior to the coalition ground forces' arrival followed by several ground skirmishes along the main routes to the international airport and western entrances to the city.
Departing the coalition-occupied base was a long, a steady stream of tandem-axle dump trucks carrying full loads of sand, heading south away from the city. Returning from the south was a second stream of fully loaded dump trucks waiting to enter the base. As the team passed the base’s main entrance, the gates were opened to reveal bulldozers spreading soil while front-end loaders were filling the trucks that had just emptied their loads of soil (silt and sand). The arriving trucks were delivering loads of sand into the base while the departing trucks were hauling away the base’s topsoil.
The method of topsoil removal and replacement at U.S.-occupied bases, living facilities, and administrative buildings is mechanically resuspending tons of potentially contaminated particulate. The dust clouds are lofting above and spreading over the entire area -- 5,000,000 residents in Baghdad alone. It is also exposing thousands of U.S. military personnel and the many frequent foreign visitors including NGO staff, reconstruction crews, business and trade delegates, and diplomatic and foreign service employees.
It’s not just UMRC that has reported the high level of radiation in Iraq, many American journalists and researchers have also confirmed the reports.
The situation in Afghanistan is worse, with tests showing even higher levels of radiation than Iraq.
Soldiers in Desert Storm (Persian Gulf War I) knew the danger of uranium toxicity from U.S. and British ordnance, and many believe that Gulf War syndrome is caused by exposure to depleted uranium.
At a recent international conference on uranium contaminated weapons held in Hamburg, Germany, researchers and witnesses from the U.S., Britain, Canada, Italy, Japan, Greece, Spain, Iraq, and Afghanistan presented various types of undeniable evidence and documents to illustrate the connection between depleted uranium and Gulf War syndrome. |

Kucinich: U.S. Headed for a Military Draft

The United States is headed for a military draft as soon as next year, Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said today: "Every sign points in that direction."
"Not only has the Administration daily renewed its commitment to continue the occupation and keep our troops there indefinitely," Kucinich pointed out, "but now there are even more troubling indications, including Congressional support, that make the draft more and more likely."
Other nations that have been part of the U.S. military coalition are "responding to the concerns of their own citizens" by pulling out their troops, putting an even greater burden on U.S. forces, he said. "First Spain, now Honduras and the Dominican Republic, possibly the Philippines, and even expressions of concern from Poland, which has the second largest military contingent in Iraq," Kucinich noted.
Even before the other nations publicly announced their intentions, the Pentagon had already ordered 20,000 U.S. troops to stay in Iraq beyond their tour of duty. Now, with the exodus of troops from other nations, "Nour own troops are stretched even further and are in more danger," he said.
Kucinich, an Ohio Congressman who led the fight on the floor of the U.S. House in opposition to the war authorization resolution in 2002, said the recent escalation in violence in Iraq is evidence that the Administration miscalculated the scope of the military effort and misjudged the reactions of the Iraqi people to the invasion and occupation.
"Now, leaders of both the Republican and Democratic parties are talking about ways to increase U.S. troop strength there to 'stabilize' the country," Kucinich said. "It was the invasion itself that destabilized the country, and the longer we stay, the more our young men and women will be targets."
As recently as yesterday, a senior Republican lawmaker raised the possibility that restoring the draft might be the only way to meet the increasing security demands in Iraq, Kucinich said. "It would take an act of Congress, but this is the same Congress that voted to authorize the war and later voted to fund it." He also pointed out that legislation has already been introduced in Congress, supported by some members of both parties, to resume the draft.
At the same time, Kucinich said that over the past few months, the Selective Service System has been quietly filling vacancies on local draft boards all across the country claiming that the actions are "merely administrative." Kucinich said he sees it otherwise: "The Pentagon has already sent tens of thousands of National Guard men and women and Reservists to Iraq," and some U.S. leaders have said the military needs 40,000 or more new personnel, in part to offset declining re-enlistments.
"I assure you, both Republicans and Democrats are looking at the draft as a way of meeting those quotas and meeting the demands of our current military policy," Kucinich said.
Kucinich, the only Democratic challenger to presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry, has been campaigning across the country urging voters to support his candidacy to send a message to the Democratic Party that it needs to take a position against the war, in favor of turning over peacekeeping and reconstruction to the United Nations, and for bringing U.S. troops home.
"The Democratic Party must have the courage to take a strong stand to bring this war to an end," Kucinich said. "The lives of countless young men and women are on the line."
He concluded, "America must take a new course: get out of Iraq and stop the threat of a draft."
