I tried to reply to your post in the Other forum, alas I am not allowed.
You assume correctly, Deep Shield does in fact work at LLNL.
You also assumed correctly about the source of errors, errors in note taking and in transcription.
My bad.
Recently I was informed that there will be several 'new' materials used in the Shield program, Boron, Magnesium, Manganese, and beryllium (and variations there of). No reason was given for the introduction of these elements - Can you think of any reason why these would be added to the mixture?
I was informed on the QT, and I can not figure this one out. My source was in a hurry and didn't have time to get into details.
