About that Hurricane Charley Relief Fund

Before Hurricane Charley even hit Florida, the media was reporting that there may be $15 billion worth of damage. Now that figure has gone up to $20 billion, and Bush has OKed federal funds already.
Don't get me wrong: I strongly believe that anyone in any state who experiences massive damages due to earthquakes, hurricanes, fires, etc. should get quick relief, and many do not--many are STILL waiting for some relief many years later from the damages their areas of the U.S. received due to various weather events and fires.
However, with Jeb Bush being governor of Florida, I do smell a rat with this Hurricane Charley $20 billion figure. I wonder just how much actual relief of the $20 billion figure the residents who got pounded by Hurricane Charley with get and how much will go into the coffers of Bush and friends. |

It sure is amazing how the genius of Silverado Savings and Loan can now actually do some "cipherin".Nott and nott is 15 Billion right uncle Jeb.Oops I mean 20 billion, got to figure in inflation and all that. They say they have a new computer program to do the figuring before the hurricane even hit.And bears don't crap in the woods anymore, they're being re-trained to use port-a-potties.If they can figure that out ahead of time then they created the hurricane,Duhhh. Just amazing how it missed the military command at Tampa. Anyone want to educate us all on how they pre-figure the dollar amount from the destruction of the hurricane.Good ol Jeb was totting that figure while the Hurricane was still off the Cuban coast. _________________ "The police are not here to create disorder.

Bush offers BIG HUG to Californians' fire destroyed homes

Last year, during the major fires in California, Bush visited the burned out sites and talked to the many people who had lost their homes. His answer to their appeals for help was that he couldn't offer them any federal financial assistance, but he could give them a big hug--no kidding! |
