I'm sure some of you might remember these dispicable comments about 9/11:
The Rev Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson set off a minor explosion of their own when they asserted on US television that an angry God had allowed the terrorists to succeed in their deadly mission because the United States had become a nation of abortion, homosexuality, secular schools and courts, and the American civil liberties union.
What's funny is now people are asking about all of these hurricanes that have been creating so much havoc in Florida. The question for Falwell, Robertson and other fanatics is a good one. Is God now punishing Jeb Bush and Florida for sinfully rigging the last election?
Here's where the story really gets good:
Hurricanes are Gods way of saying...
Despite Rev. Pat Robertson's public appeal for prayers to keep Hurricane Isabel away from Virginia Beach, Va. (where he lives) the hurricane roared through town in September causing serious property damage.
In 1998, Robertson condemned the city of Orlando, Fla., for sponsoring a Gay Days festival, and warned that the city could be torn up during the subsequent hurricane season, as God punishes those who promote homosexuality.
Instead, the first hurricane of that season (Bonnie) scored a direct hit on Virginia Beach.

LOL, looks like God may have his own plans for the insanely pious evangelical? And Christians say that Muslims are radical, hah!

In 2002, the incumbent governor won by over 800 votes.
After midnight Baldwin County decided 1200 Republicans could not possibly have voted Libertarian.
They therefore changed the count, to give the 1200 Libertarian votes to the Republican and make him the winner by about 400 votes.
Hurricane Ivan made a beeline for Baldwin County Alabama and struck hardest at the most heavily Republican and most affluent communities.
God is angry! |
