Another problem in Oregon with the mail in ballots, verifing signatures.I mailed my ballot in last week and received a call on Thursday saying my signature didn't match with my original signature.Went right down to the election office and had to fill out a new signature card.My signature was okay for the last two years but not now.Granted the election people were calling everyone they had misgivings about, but what about the ones that they couldn't reach.Their votes would not be counted.Whom does this favor?

Correct me if I am mistaken, but isn't Oregon the one state that no longer has "in person" voting, all voting is done "mail in"? I thought I had seen that somewhere. I could be wrong. Regardless, that is a bunch of horsepoop. This whole election is really starting to piss me off. If we have another obvious case of Bush stealing the election like he did in 2000, people aren't going to stand for it this time. I predict there will be riots in every major city in the U.S. except Houston and Dallas. Something short of a Civil War, but a damn bloody rebellion I bet. People are only going to take this kind of abuse so long before it errupts into something violent. Even here where 90+ percent are loyal to the death $#@#!, the atmosphere is very charged, those that do hate Bush, really hate him. It isn't like any previous election in my lifetime.

You are correct, all Oregon voting is mail in and has for some time now.I was pissed to say the least.I have the advantage of being around my home all day ,if I choose.Lucky to get the call when I did .Most people don't.A lot will never know that a call was made,or just blow it off figuring it was another call to make sure you vote for Moe or Curly. Shemp ,being my choice. The majority of the people will figure that their vote was counted, as usual . Then after the election ,when it is too late ,they'll find out.The majority will figure, "Oh well." My county is very small ,population wise and no way of notifing the populace of this matter ,as many or most ballots are already in the mail. If Bush steals this election I will not put up with it. Don't shoot till you see the whites of their eyes. "This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing Government, they can exercise their 'constitutional' right of amending it or their 'revolutionary' right to dismember or overthrow it."
Abraham Lincoln, First inaugural address, March 4, 1861. (sometimes incorrectly cited as an April 4th speech)

That really bites. I don't even live in Oregon and it has me pissed off. We need election reform, but less options as opposed to more options is not what we need. Only giving voters one way to vote, through the mail no less is just plain wrong.

I like the Abraham Lincoln quote. Maybe it is about time to excercise our "revolutionary" rights...

The mail has good potential. The way to correct the problem with verifying signatures is to have everyone fill out new voters registration cards every four years

I'm not saying that mail voting is not a good option. But it should not be the only option. Every one should have the right to vote in person if they choose. Most states allow for either early voting by mail, absentee ballot or both in addition to in person voting. This year Texas started early voting in person in addition to early voting by mail, it was a huge sucess. 12 days to vote in person at designated early voting polling places that are seperate from the regular precinct polling places used on election day, and anyone who was eligible to vote (and registered) could vote at ANY of the early voting locations in the county. That included one weekend. It is way more convenient than election day voting. Five minute lines, as opposed to the 1 hour plus lines people had to wait in back in 2000. I voted 2 weeks ago on my lunch break at a polling location 2 blocks from my work and I work 20 miles away from home in another city, no problems getting a ballot for my precint. Otherwise I'd have spent an hour in line after work, and had to have driven 2 miles out of my way after work just to get to the polling location in my own precinct. Of course it is safe to offer early voting in Texas, it's not a swing state by any stretch of the imagination. We wouldn't want to inconvenience all the hard working, caucasian, god fearing, good ol' boys in Texas and drive Bush votes away from the polls the way we do in the inner city voting locations in the swing states now would we. Regardless, it is a good voting system, in my opinion. There are other problems with the voting system in Texas (and I'm not just talking about the fact that 80% of the population are brain dead $#@#! nazi zombies), don't get me wrong, it's not perfect.

Last I saw, even the latest Foxnews poll showed Kerry beating Bush by two points. For his own sake, Bush better not have a pretzel in his mouth when the media starts predicting the winner tommorrow night! I could be wrong, but I think the nations youth as well as voters in general are going to turn out in extreme record numbers and make Kerry the winner. If not, we all know that Bush won't have won this election fairly.

The majority of the new registered voters are not signing on to vote for Bush. This will be the largest voter turn out in my life time, and this is because the country wants the BushMafia/House of Saud the hell out of" our" business. The people are fed up, period. Kerry is no choirboy, but he should give us some breathing room and let the rest of the world know the citizens of the United States give a rats ass. To let Bush have this election is like committing national suicide, the rest of the world will think we all aprove of his mass murdering, stealing, drug dealing. This moron is a disgrace to all of us.

Only because the majority are fat lazy, beer drinkin, nascar watchin, football worshiping, brainwashed zombies.Voting for a real candidate who would take apart the mass governnment would mean they might have to get up off their FAT lazy A$$ES and do something for themselves.
