Okay- dumb question about chat!

I feel so silly asking this but where on this page is the "chat" icon? I can't find it anywhere! Please be as specific as possible. |

Hey there, See where on the left hand column it says members area? You "hit on that" and get access, where you will have box show up where you put your "I.D. Handle and password, then press in for that, that is where the members area is...scroll down the page a little, and you will see a blue box where it says chat, you press on that and wait a bit, another box comes up where you sign in, then press where it says Volano on it...then you are in chat room...you respond by putting the curser in the bottom line box, type what ya have to say and hit enter on your keyboard. And then you chat back and forth...type, hit enter again and so on. Sometimes, it says no one is in chat, so you can access and wait there, but sometimes, someone is in there waiting and the name hasn't shown up yet. Members area access is in the very upper-most left hand side in column there. J. You may be missing it so make sure ya scroll this page back up so all of the left column shows. J. In the next box where ya have to put your "handle", it says profile next, I'm not sure what it's for so I just put mysticwarrior in mine...you can put "New member" for yours for now, I guess. Here's another way to access the chatroom:
To get there, go to http://www.chemtrailcentral.com/cgi-bin/ubbmisc.cgi?action=membersarea
Fill in your UserName and Password (if they're not already there), and press "Submit Identification."
A new page will open. Click on 
A "Chat Gateway" window will open. Type in your screen name. (When you click on the box, you won't see your cursor, but it's there. Just go ahead and type in the name we know you by.) Then press the button which says Volano Chat!
You'll go to another window which has ···CLICK HERE FOR HELP··· across the top. The names of the other chatters will be in a box on the right. Here's the key, though. There is a box at the bottom which says Select a name for the profile. Double click a name for a private chat. ABOVE that box is a long narrow box. THAT'S THE PLACE where you will be typing in your dialog. Set your cursor in there. Type in whatever you want to say, press "Enter" and whatever you typed will move into the large black rectangle where dialog is displayed for everybody to read.
One of the things about chatrooms is that several conversations tend to go on simultaneously. And you don't get the verbal and visual clues you get in a real conversation, so it's often hard to follow. Even worse--chatroom software sometimes locks up and kicks you out unexpectedly! So you'll get to dust yourself off, log in again, and rejoin the group. But give it a try. I think you'll enjoy it. |
