Retirement, Assisted Living Alert!

The best kept secret in Spokane, Wa. for Retirement, and Assited Living is the "Cooper George". Fine old high rise on Spokane's lower South hill. Wonderful apartments with great views. Close to Doctors, Hospitals, Downtown shopping, Busses, and Parks. Unfortunately all these qualities DO NOT compensate for very poor management. (Warehouse Mentality) Staff is underpaid, undertrained, uncaring, surly, and indifferent to the needs of the residents. (Highest employee turnover in Spokane County). Food is appalling. Three meals per day of ill prepared, tastless, starch, and filler. Theft and street drug use is rampent. Building maintenance is shoddy, and unprofessional. Elevators are inadequate. How the owners (Emeritus) remain under the radar of state agencies is beyond belief. In response to very slow new placements management has added fresh paint, new floor covering, plants, and a lovely new fountain in the lobby. Funds better spent on decent food and wages for better personnel. Beware of their facade! Looks can be deceiving.[/list] |
