Louis,

i am not sure i understand your post. are you saying that because you are not seeing any trails that there is no air traffic? even if you accept that chemtrails are real surely you must agree that contrails are also real. accepting that premise you must also agree that there are certain days that are not condusive to contrail propagation. with that in mind, isnt it possible that on the days that you are not seeing any trails above you that there are still hundreds of aircraft? maybe you just cant see them because they are not creating contrails.

Ernie, I think you may have misinterpreted the irony he intended in his first paragraph is all. Louis is stating that according to the official explanation of contrails, using that logic would imply that there are no flights when contrails aren't observed.

Contrail formation hinges upon certain conditions, which we all know at this point. The difficulty in observations is when one sees a persistent contrail laid in the same relative space as ones that don't persist or even show short ones.

I'll contribute further to this connundrum with an observation I made last Saturday when persistent contrails returned to my skies after almost two weeks of absence:

First trail is seen here:

10 minutes later, these are running across it's path:

Within another 5 minutes, 5 more were laid, with a 6th in progress in this image:

Total time elapsed here is less than 20 minutes total.

Now here's the rub:

I saw these trails laid by the same 2 craft. My camera's zzom isn't good enough for high resolution, but you can see one of them here:

(note that it appears to have 3 main plumes. I've never seen a 3 engine aircraft)

Ok, so the neat part of all this is that these craft were flying back & forth and sveral times only laid them down when flying in one direction. What I mean is, they would lay them down flying south to north, then circle back and pass over agin without any contrail formation at all. I also observed them in occasionally illegal formations well within what I would consider the 3 mile distance FAA demands between craft. I also observed one of them making a manuever that would have probably smushed any passengers onboard into one side of the fuselage had there actually been any passengers at all.

That these craft were in a position of control over their own contrail formations is something I found very hard to avoid concluding.

So within 15 miutes after TWO weeks of seeing NO contrail formation short or long, 15 or more trails are laid by (at least)two aircraft that appeared to have control over persistent contrail deposition, and made observed repetitions over my city, with turns that(I considered as an observer) were too aggressive for a passenger flight.

All of this falls rather well under what I would consider *Abnormal* air traffic.

I haven't seen any spraying in the san francisco bay area for about a month now. Do you think they're doing it at night instead of daytime lately?

Darvi, I have seen persistant contrails laid at night. I saw a striking one made about 3 weeks ago right by the moon at 11:30 pm, but by the time I was able to get home & take my shot the trail had dispersed enough to where the image wasn't very compelling on it's own.

This was one of the only times I was positive that there was night-time activity.
One other was when I saw a grid made over the city after sundown that was so low you could see the arc sodium street lights illuminating the trails.

Interesting..just saw this now. Hard to say until I'm able to obtain better close-ups, but it looks like a good candidate.

they spray at night. make no doubt about.

at least in Dallas they do. Me and a buddy got "cropdusted" out in Ft. Worth once. It was THE lowest i've ever seen a contrail, and at night to boot.

So yes, this is a 24/7 operation IMHO.

They spray at night on a regular basis over Western New York now.

Several weeks ago it was so bad we could smell the chemicals in the air at 5:00 A.M.

Yes indeed... this is definately a 24/7 operation!!!
