Texas town sees desperation setting in PostFri Sep 30, 2005 5:44 pm  Reply with quote

Yet according to CNN/Gallup/USA Today and Fox News polls Bush's ratings are up to 45% after Rita? Yeah right!!!!

Texas town sees desperation setting in

quote:
"We sustained hurricane winds of about 100 to 120 mph for about a nine-hour period, so we have thousands of trees down within our city," said Jasper Police Chief Todd Hunter, who paused during a hectic day to sound a shrill note of alarm. "Our city is without gas. We have no gas except to run emergency vehicles, This city is without food. There were some MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) brought in yesterday, but it was not enough.

"People are becoming desperate. They've been three days without water. They weren't prepared," he added. He asked people to call their state representatives and senators and "try to encourage them to get our food and get our water to us, because we're desperate and we need them now. People have been without all basic needs for days."

The delusion is back and Republicans think he's doing a great job again. The press stopped talking about Rita and Katrina to cover Delay and Plame again, instead of hammering Bush's #'s to about 35%. It'll be back to par again soon. Remember what we're dealing with here.

The only two showing a pro-Bush bounce cited in the latest Reuters report are the CNN/Gallup and Fox News polls. Gallup is a huge GOP donor and the Fox poll speaks for itself. Most likely a push/pull with very leading questions and/or fudged numbers too. Yes there's always going to be that severely retarded 35-40% that will support Bush even if he incinerates the country to ashes but I don't believe that right now it could be improving. If they decide to rig the elections again in 2006 they're going to have to point to phony polls like these for "proof" that the Republican Party was on the upswing that way it won't look as suspicious when they win big despite all that's gone wrong for them. Right now only the most insanely dedicated brown shirts are backing Bush and the conservatives.
