Flight paths?

I was just wondering if the flight maps and flight paths are public information, and how we could obtain those (FAA or other web sites??)? That would greatly help in identifying planes and their patterns, and knowing when a plane is deviating from normal flight paths.

I believe 3T3L1 provided a link to Flight Explorer's software on the CT Reports thread. Check there, or do a google search. Shows commercial flights only I think. |

Can someone who has Flight Explorer give me an overlay of California on a busy flight day?
I would *LOVE* to get Flight Explorer. In fact, I can even afford to spend the money on it. But once I read about the restrictions, I changed my mind. It says that you are only allowed like 5 or 10 hours a month, and each time you LOAD it, it charges you for 30 minutes, even if you don't use 30 minutes.. That is kinda annoying considering I would be a casual user, and probably load it like 20 or 30 times a month for 5-10 minutes at a time, instead of sitting in it for hours at a time (my office doesn't have a window so I can't watch all day long what's going on, but it would be nice if I happen to be outside to run inside and pull it up and see what's going on)...
Anyway, oh well.

SCADJ-
Give me a time of day (Pacific Time) and a city, and I'll get you a picture.
I thought FE charged in 15 minute increments. We don't have too many contrail days in Lubbock, so I don't check it that often, but in three months I haven't gone over my limit yet. You can do quite a bit to get familiar with it using their offline version, so you don't chew up chargeable hours trying to figure out the features.
