It's my understanding that the 'Spirit' section of this forum is for people to discuss things they believe, not mock things they don't. I disagree with just about every faith-based concept imaginable, but it's not my place to bring unsolicited instigation to people who choose that path.
The only thing this thread is going to do is bring down Ellyn and Jeanie's justifiable wrath on you for stirring up the ant pile, so don't say you haven't been warned. If you press on with things like this, it might be determined that you're deliberately trying to devide the forum members by using the all-too-effective religion wedge.
That would be an unfortunate conclusion to be arrived upon. CTC already has my vote. _________________ "If the President has commander-in-chief power to commit torture, he has the power to commit genocide, to sanction slavery, to promote apartheid, to license summary execution." |

How can you agree 110% when you likely have no idea what i meant... _________________ HELLO ME,MEET THE REAL ME........... |

Well, humor me, then, and please explain to someone of my density just what exactly your intention WAS, because I'm not quite understanding what reason you would have to start a thread making derisatory remarks about Revelations for in the first place if you weren't seeking to exploit differences amongst forum members.
Interestingly enough, you'll find the Christian members most likely to be inflammed by your remarks here to be far more forgiving than I am. Ambrose Bierce summorized perfectly how I feel about apologies:
APOLOGIZE, v.i. To lay the foundation for a future offence.
I'm 99% certain you're playing games with this community; what the reason is I could care less about. You might be able to take advantage of other members' good nature, but don't push your luck with me. Scrubbing posts that should never have been made in the first place doesn't erase the offence. _________________ "If the President has commander-in-chief power to commit torture, he has the power to commit genocide, to sanction slavery, to promote apartheid, to license summary execution." |

I'm still trying to figure what the problem is in this one?
I wasn't able to read the original post that apparently was later deleted. _________________ "You find me offensive? I find you offensive, for finding me offensive" |

I am sorry if I have offended you, that was not the intention, what I had initially posted was a satirical (relating to satire or the use of wit to attack the vices and follies of humankind(Encarta Dic. North America) play on the Jeopardy game, and a qoute from Revelation 19:1. The topic was titled " Biblical Quote's for Modern Times, For a thousand, Alec." I was just being playfull with my own creative spirit, in the spirit forum. I was not attempting to divide anyone. It seems to me that if I quote from the bible at all someone seems to get upset, yet when someone points to something negative mentioned about it, no one seems to be up set about that. Where is the balance? I was under the impression that this was a censor free, (within reason) environment. If I have offended anyone at all, I am sorry, (feeling or expressing regret for an action that has upset or inconvenienced somebody) Ok... I will be more careful (acting with caution and attention) with what I post. Peace, out... |

Fair enough, but if you consider how oblique your reference is to the original item, you'll see how easy it is for it to be taken out of context. This forum has seen alot of adversity, you've seen that yourself as you came at a time when the server was hacked and much data was lost. The community has faced debunkers for years that have been openly hostile and/or done subversive acts that have been damaging to this community's members.
I'm not interested in seeing things that tamper with the delicate solidarity that we have here. In the future, if you have something amusing you'd like to express, it might be better to place it in the Freeform section instead of here.
The Spirit forum is no place for jokes, oblique or otherwise. I'm a sarcastic moron much of the time, but even I tread lightly where other people's beliefs are concerned.
And keep in mind that no community is 100% censor-free, especially one that battles disinformation on a regular basis. I could think of some extreme examples to illustrate my point, but I'm sure that's not neccessary.
Sorry for the hostility, but I look after my friends here, even if I don't share their belief system.
ciao,

Whatever happened to all the positivity?
Where did it go?
All we have now is INCREASing negativity and badly veiled threats.
Plz some body, bring back some hope in this forum. _________________ "Hikow mamtaqiym wkulow mahamadiym zeh dowdiy wzeh ree`iy bnowt yruushaalaaim."
