The 700 'clubs'

I decided to tune in to this program today just for a good laugh you know? Today's lesson was that the more you give (to the 700 Club) the more God will give you in return, exponentially they say. The segment showcased members who claim that after donating to the 700 Club their lives were instantly transformed in to one of prosperity and good fortune.
Stepping Up to the Challenge
Apparently the words of Jesus that the host refers to over and over again:
quote: “If we give, we receive. I like the fact that He tells us if you give, you’ll be paid back in full measure, pressed down, shaken up, spilling over. I love that, and He proves Himself to me all the time.”
This is just great stuff I must say. What a cunning way to convince people to give away their money.
quote: “My business was failing. I had been suffering for two and a half years. I was taking the blunt end of all the bills. I just couldn’t do it any more.”
quote: But Kris made an unusual decision. While watching The 700 Club, she decided to give out of her need.
And the result was amazing.
“March 22, I gave $20 and March 23 I received my first order, and it was plenty enough to cover the $20. Three days later I received another order. I decided after a couple months I was going to up my giving. I was gonna give $40, and the Lord continued to bless me enough to give whatever I was giving.”
Now not only has her Web site seen a turnaround, but her beauty salon has several new hair stylists.
“Just recently in my business… I have tripled my income -- tripled in less than a year.”
Kris loves to raise her giving level during a “700 Club challenge.”
“Other members call in, and they’ll give like a $100,000 challenge. What they’re asking for is, if enough people call in and give a $100,000, they’ll match it. So it’s $200,000. That’s why I love to give during the challenges because it’s not as if I’m giving $84, it’s $168! I love that.”
Now as a 2500 Club member, Kris truly believes in the power of giving.
“He tells you to give, and we will receive. He’ll make it so that the windows of heaven open up, and we can’t contain His blessings.”
Kris saw the rewards of applying the Law of Reciprocity -- "Give and it shall be given to you" -- by giving to CBN. Here is your chance to give to the Lord and see your dollars bring truth to hurting people, feed and clothe needy children, keep The 700 Club Prayer Counseling Center phone lines operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and provide medical care to those who need a tangible touch of God's love.
I would just love to know how much of a cut Pat Robertson gets from all of these charitable donations? I think that there might be a certain hefty percentage of it that helps him to maintain that devilish grin of his each night.
If 100% of the money goes to the poor and the needy as they claim, then that's one thing. I seriously doubt it though.
I still see it as a very devious practice of false advertising to make promises on behalf of Jesus that it will in the end greatly benefit your own life financially.
It's a competition to see who can purchase the love of Jesus the fastest.
Pat's clubs
quote: Founders Club $417/month $5000/year
2500 Club $209/month $2500/year
1000 Club $84/month $1000/year
700 Club Gold $40/month $480/year
700 Club $20/month $240/year
If you are able to make a larger gift, find out more about the new "Chairman's Circle" club level.
There you go guys, join up!!!
Pat Rober....err, I mean...Jesus (yeah that's it) will just adore you for it!!!!
Hell, you can even have to amount automatically charged to your plastic each month. That's for the convenience guys....
I'm still looking for the 700-mile high club where you can buy your way passed the gates of heaven.

Remember too, several years ago when Pat R, claimed "god" was calling him to run for president and he needed a LOT of donations to have a successful campaign ? What a farce. It seems that no matter how bad some organizations prove themselves to be there are are always some short sighted, narrow minded hanger on ers . Bet you can think of any number of phony "servants" of the people. |

Some of what Robertson has done with his money as he asks others to give it away...to him of course. This "holy man" that so many people inflate is a demon who has exploited many poor people in other countries, gladly associated himself with violent oppressive dictators and all so that he could suck up some big cash. I knew that this guy was bad news but had no idea that it went this far.
Diamonds are Robertson's best friend
quote: Under International Family Entertainment, a for-profit organization, Chairman Robertson and his son, Tim, received over $1.1 million in salaries and bonuses in 1993 alone. According to Robertson, his close relationship with God has given him the insider's scoop on successfully using what he calls "God's marvelous system of money management". With so many projects to run, Robertson seems to have his hands full (with cash, that is).
quote: Although the financial success of CBN is well-known, one of Robertson's lesser known organizations is his African Development Company (ADC). ADC is a private venture that invests in various land-based operations in Africa, such as mining and agriculture, with the stated goal of redirecting profits toward humanitarian projects. In Zaire, the ADC operates a diamond-mining project in the center of Zaire's prime diamond mines and forestry concessions.
quote: Zaire is a country with a population of approximately 43 million, most of whom live in poverty. At the same time, Zaire's head of government, Mobutu Sese Seko, a dictator who has plundered the wealth of his nation for over thirty years, is able to live luxuriously surrounded by the comforts of vacation homes, yachts, and champagne. Corruption, health concerns, and human rights abuses in Zaire have long been an international concern, causing many countries, including the U.S., to turn a diplomatic cold shoulder toward Mobutu.
quote: U.S. intelligence agencies have reported that billions of dollars in aid given to Zaire during the Cold War now find a comfortable home in Mobutu's personal bank accounts. Human rights groups around the world have campaigned against the numerous atrocities committed against the Zairians during his thirty-year reign, including the deaths of tens of thousands of citizens. Mobutu has refused to implement any democratic reform that would lessen his power.
President Mobutu continuously campaigns to distance himself from his appalling human-rights record, which has earned him more foes than friends. However, despite the innumerable strikes against him, it seems that Mobutu has attained a new trading partner, Pat Robertson. Mobutu's partnership with Robertson is another of Mobutu's attempts to build ties between his illegitimate regime and the U.S., as a way of gaining international acceptance.
quote: Robertson, the former U.S. presidential candidate, has shown that he is not the least bit uneasy with utilizing Mobutu's personal fleet of planes and yachts, which were purchased off the backs of Zaire's oppressed citizens. Dr. Makau Mutua, projects director of the Human Rights Program at Harvard Law School, in the February 27, 1995 issue of TIME magazine observed that "Robertson is Mobutu's biggest American catch."
quote: When presented with more of the facts surrounding ADC, one is forced question the nature of Robertson's relationship with such a dictator. Should a "good Christian" profit from diamonds and lumber mined by the functional equivalent of slave labor? While other Christian relief programs donate aid to Zaire via private organizations to avoid any connection with Mobutu's corrupt government, Robertson rushes forth with open arms towards Mobutu.
On February 16, 1992, Zairian Protestants and Catholics held a demonstration asking for reform. Mobutu's troops opened fire on the demonstrators. Despite the bloody massacre that followed, coupled with criticism by the U.S. State Department, Pat Robertson was among the first in line to wine and dine with Mobutu in Zaire.
Perhaps Robertson's financial gains are enough for him to ignore any humanitarian pleas for reform in Zaire. Not only does Robertson profit handsomely off of his tidy diamond-mining operation, but Mobutu also makes his own, more than satisfactory income, through his country's $300 million-a-year mineral trade. Although Robertson has supported a number of dubious causes, his relationship with a character like Mobutu is one that may lead to more questions than Robertson is willing to answer. The love (of money) relationship between Robertson and Mobutu may leave Robertson's associates feeling a bit more than uncomfortable.
Operation Blessing
quote: Before you consider giving a penny to Operation Blessing, please read this.
Once upon a time, there once was an evil African Dictator named Mobutu Sese Seko. He was the leader of a country by the name of Zaire, which just so happened to be filled with diamond mines. In fact, Zaire was so full of diamonds that many rich westerners were trying to exploit the natural resources and the native peoples. Pat Robertson, having an unrivaled talent for finding indigenous populations to exploit, immediately befriended Mobutu Sese Seko. After some long walks on the beach and duck hunting, Robertson decided to purchase the rights to mine for diamonds in the Tshikapa region of Zaire. But then Robertson did something very, very stupid. He used the cargo planes that belonged to Operation Blessing, a non-profit charity, to transport the diamond mining equipment.
Let’s do a quick recap: Pat Robertson made a deal with the African Stalin to mine for diamonds and expand his personal fortune, then used the cargo planes from his charity to transport the equipment That’s breaking like five commandments.
So when you think about how you want to help out Katrina’s victims, remember the story of Mobuto Sese Seko and Pat Robertson. Give your money to The American Red Cross or The Humane Society (for all the animals left behind in the wake of Katrina). If you really wanna put a thorn in Robertson’s side, give to United Jewish Communities.

Well, after reading further in to this exploitive venture of his it turns out that the diamond business went belly up for him.
quote: But as it turned out, virtually all of the cash flow was outgo, not income. For Robertson, the mega-successful televangelist, diamond mining turned out to be a big-time bust.
The venture lost millions, and now the recriminations have begun.
What happened? How did Robertson, operating in a diamond-rich country with the blessing of the dictator, manage to lose it all?
There are conflicting accounts.
Perhaps that should say something about God's feelings about Pat and whether or not the big guy/gal upstairs approved of his actions? I thought that God would assist such a wonderful, religious fellow and ensure his deals to be a success? Guess not....you can read more about it here if you wish:
Robertson's failure
I've become fascinated with this clown's propensity for greed and selfishness in God's name. If anyone has any other dirt on this creep please post it here. I think someone should be keeping tabs on this guy. It turns out that there's much more than just his mouth that's dangerous about him. _________________ "You find me offensive?
