Dear [recipient name was inserted here],

Please cosponsor HR 3037, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2005.

U.S. companies that manufacture or sell products made with hemp include
Dr. Bronner‚s Magic Soaps, the top-selling natural soap, Interface, the
world's largest manufacturer of commercial carpet and carpet tiles,
FlexForm Technologies, an Indiana company whose natural fiber plastics are
found in 1.5 million cars, Alterna, a professional hair care company whose
hemp styling products are beloved by Julia Roberts, Nutiva, maker of an
award-winning low-carb hemp protein powder, and adidas USA which has been
selling hemp sneakers since 1995. Although hemp grows wild across the US,
a vestige of the country's centuries of hemp farming, the hemp for these
products must be imported.

There is widespread support among national organizations for a change in
the federal government‚s position on industrial hemp. In addition to Vote
Hemp, the leading industrial hemp advocacy group, the National Association
of State Departments of Agriculture „supports revisions to the federal
rules and regulations authorizing commercial production of industrial
hemp.‰ The National Grange „supports research, production, processing and
marketing of industrial hemp as a viable agricultural activity.‰

Individual states have also expressed interest in industrial hemp.
Twenty-six states have introduced hemp legislation and six, Hawaii,
Kentucky, Maine, Montana, North Dakota, and West Virginia, have removed
barriers to its production or research. The Industrial Hemp Farming Act,
HR 3037, would allow laws in these states regulating the growing and
processing of industrial hemp to take effect.

For more information, please read the Congressional Research Service's
Report for Congress, "Hemp as an Agricultural Commodity"

I hope that you will help farmers gain the right to grow this high-value
crop by cosponsoring HR 3037, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2005.

Sincerely,

Second email I received.

Hemp may help save the day!!! How ironic!!

Thank you for helping Vote Hemp in our efforts to earn farmers the right to grow industrial hemp.

Please encourage everyone you know to go to http://capwiz.com/votehemp/ to send a letter to their US representative urging them to cosponsor the first-ever hemp farming bill, the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2005.

You can help pay for this service by making a donation to Vote Hemp via credit card or PayPal at:
http://www.VoteHemp.com/contribute.html

Or mailing your donation to us at: Vote Hemp, P.O. Box 862,
Bedford, MA 01730.

There are many things you can do to help. Organize a meeting for your state or federal elected representatives with supporters of industrial hemp farming. Encourage the news outlets in your area to report and editorialize on efforts to gain farmers the right to grow industrial hemp. Arrange a presentation on industrial hemp for your county farm or law enforcement organization.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to assist you in your hemp advocacy.

Sincerely,
Alexis Baden-Mayer, Esq.
