Democrats are cooing with delight over the recent off-year election results, declaring that the American people have decided they prefer Democrats to Republicans. They're rubbing their hands together in gleeful expectation of the coming 2006 elections. My question to the American people is this: Were you born stupid or did you have to work at it? Does anyone honestly believe that voting for Democrats, as opposed to voting for Republicans, will change a damned thing in this country? I'm watching C-SPAN right now and listening to Steny Hoyer (D. - Maryland) and other Democratic congressmen speaking of the divisions within the GOP and its coming demise. Are we to forget that the "loyal opposition" has been more of a loyal lapdog these past years since September 11th? They voted for the Patriot Act along with Republicans without even reading it. They voted for the war in Iraq. They have voted repeatedly to fund the failed effort at building a democracy in Iraq. They have voted to continue sending our young men and women to fight and die for a lie. They willingly took part in the whitewash called the 9/11 Commission. They're counting on your stupidity to keep pulling the broken lever of the corrupt two-party system, all the while hoping for different results. This is the very definition of insanity!
