I have heard it all now. If this election wasn't already a big enough farce, now we have the outcome hanging by the threads of pregnant chads? The rest of the world must be rolling in the aisles.

3 quarters of the world would love to have half of our GNP, I doubt they are laughing at our election,since the lawyer's are involved,the canidate for 'Tort' reform will probably lose...Please excuse me for the ignorance, but would someone explain the term "pregnant chads".... I've heard of "chud" canibalistic human underground dweller.... Close ? Elvis, if you walk 18 holes, and carry your bag, where do you keep the beer ? ------------------

seeker..'Chad' is a term to define a specific reason why a ballot is not counted. The chad is created when the voting machine fails to completely penetrate the circle on the ballot. There are 4 kinds of chads, including the hanging chad (held together by a thread) a swinging chad (held together by 2 threads) and the pregnant chad (round circle but no penetration). The Florida hand recount currently in progress is examining every vote containing chads and then determining what the intent of the voter was....i.e. if they agree the voter intended to vote for Gore, then the vote is given to Gore. Now do you see why the rest of the world is rolling in the aisles? As for the beer, the beverage cart comes by about every 5 holes......then of course there is the 19th hole.
