I've decided that now may be a good time to archive the following thread, originally posted at carnicom, saved by Deborah, then edited and reposted by the both of us. Once again I will make the point that the issue of whether or not the military is spraying us has long since been decided. The issue is informed consent...

>> The DOD/DOE have disclosed their plans for an aerial spray program over Salt Lake City. They intend to release simulants for biological weapons/weather control purposes. This is a golden opportunity to document the US military spraying a civilian population center and to gather as much data as possible. I'll be very interested to see what kinds of aircraft are involved, what kind of contrail signature they leave and what kind of flight patterns they follow, for example. To those people that have maintained that the US government is not engaged in aerosol spraying over US population centers with regard to biological weapons and weather modification, I say this: as of now, your credibility has been completely obliterated. Go tell the DOD that they aren't doing this. Go tell the DOE. Or go buy yourself a one-way ticket to Utah and get a lung-full of this crap. You deserve it.<<

October 21, 2000

BY BRENT ISRAELSEN
THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE

Federal government scientists are conducting two different atmospheric studies in Salt Lake City this month. Both will look at how air and particles flow in the atmosphere, but their data is being used to study two different Utah phenomena: weather inversions and the Olympics.

One study is part of the Department of Energy's Chemical and Biological National Security program, whose goal is to develop and improve systems the United States can use to respond to chemical and biological attacks.

In this study, a non-toxic, inert tracer chemical called sulphur hexafluoride is being released into the skies above Salt Lake City. Monitoring and sensoring equipment are tracking the chemical to determine wind patterns, temperature and moisture patterns and how air is mixed in lower- and mid-levels of the atmosphere.

The Department of Defense's Defense Threat Reducation Agency (DTRA) is supporting this study and may use information from it for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

DTRA, which is responsible for protecting the United States and its allies from weapons of mass destruction, will use the information to assist police, fire and military personnel in the event of an attack involving nuclear, chemical or biological weapons or a large chemical accident, said Capt. Bob Bennett, spokesman for the agency. The study will be conducted through much of this month.

The knowledge may be useful for security during the 2002 Winter Games, though Bennett insisted the upcoming Olympics was not the motivation behind his agency's "piggybacking" on the DOE's atmospheric study. Utah Olympics security officials this week said they were unaware of the military's involvement in the atmospheric study, but welcomed any data that might help avert or minimize the risk of terrorist attacks.

And Utah safety and health officials, who have been active in preparing for terrorism, likely will welcome it. Scott Williams, deputy director of the Utah Health Department, visited the Sydney Games. He said he learned that every Olympics event is a potential target of bioterrorism and public-health officials can be involved in prevention.

The second study is part of DOE's Vertical Transport and Mixing Program, which will look at how air mixes and moves vertically.

Scientists hope a key outcome of this experiment will be an increased understanding of temperature inversions, in which cold air settles for long periods of time in the Salt Lake Valley, trapping pollutants that are harmful to human health.

Salt Lake is the perfect location for such a study.

"Its complex topography and geographic makeup provide an ideal setting to study how cold night air collects in mountain basins," said Dawn White, with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, which is one of DOE's labs. It is those cold air pools sitting below the warmer air that create a temperature inversion, she explained, and trap pollutants. END

I don't have a fax but yesterday we had two really strange looking military planes fly over..One in the early morning and the tail just for reference looked like \-/,the other yesterday 10-25 at approximately 2;00 in the afternoon..it was flying north and seemed to be landing at or near Charlotte Douglas...big plane and very low altitude it had several what seemed to be large stripes of some kind on the body. Also there is a thread entitled silver balls over nashville on the board..I personally have witnessed several of these silver ball things one was very near a plane, I am wondering if these things would show up?? There's a link in the post for the tracers site where our pics are posted...Very strange to see these things flying around up there..ms

Climate Action Report: Greenhouse Gas Inventory www.state.gov/www/global/oes/97climate_report/part3.html

EXCERPTS:

>>Central to any study of climate change is the development of an emission inventory that identifies and quantifies a country's primary sources and sinks of greenhouse gases. This inventory provides both (1) a basis for the ongoing development of a comprehensive and detailed methodology for estimating sources and sinks of greenhouse gases and (2) a common, consistent mechanism that enables all signatory countries to the United Nations' Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC) to estimate emissions and to compare the relative contributions of different emission sources and greenhouse gases to climate change. Moreover, systematically and consistently estimating national and international emissions is a prerequisite for evaluating the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of mitigation strategies and emission reduction technologies....

Among the inventory's greenhouse gases, changes in CO2 emissions from fossil fuel consumption had the greatest impact during the five-year period. In most cases, emissions from methane, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) have remained relatively constant or have increased slightly....

HFCs, PFCs, and SF6 Emissions

Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) have been introduced as alternatives to the ozone-depleting substances being phased out under the Montreal Protocol and Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. Because HFCs and PFCs are not directly harmful to the stratospheric ozone layer, they are not controlled by the Montreal Protocol.

However, these compounds, along with sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), are powerful greenhouse gases. Therefore, they are considered under the United Nations' Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC). In addition to having high global warming potentials, SF6 and most PFCs have extremely long atmospheric lifetimes, resulting in their essentially irreversible accumulation in the atmosphere....

Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) is the most potent greenhouse gas the IPCC has ever evaluated. About 80 percent of the worldwide use of SF6 is as an insulator in electrical transmission and distribution systems. SF6 is also used as a protective atmosphere for the casting of molten magnesium....

MS, I'm glad I'm not the only one to witness these silver spheres! I had the amazing opportunity to get within spitting distance of one these devices a few years ago in Los Angeles and I can tell you two things, unequivocally:

1) They are under intelligent control
2) They aren't ours.

More recently I observed one of these spheres apparently manipulate a CT, turning it ninety degrees to the horizon line. Now, whenever I start to to lose hope, whenever I start to succumb to the forces of apathy, denial and outright stupidity, I remember that tiny shining sphere wreaking absolute havoc with a multi-billion dollar program...

Gosh I love you guys...When I read these post I almost believe there is still hope for this Country!!
Isn't it amazing and have you noticed the commercial for some dotcom co. or something that has the silver balls flying around in the back of the 18 wheeler..I tripped when I saw that...
Also wanted to note that I have earnestly prayed that God would open my eyes and allow me to see the truth and it is just unbelievable the things I've witnessed..I also feel like the last sighting we had of the silver balls, there were two of them..I was viewing one to the South, my friend one to the north..we were both flipping..they were close..The one posted at Tracers flew from under or near the plane over my house and just sat there for awhile..my kids saw it,my neighbor, took the picture..I do feel like they almost know your there..I thank God for all of you, who else could I tell about this? What a support system...Grace to each of you..ms

*ps* does anyone know what's up with this commercial running that says: March 1st A new world; A new way...The kids are sitting in the floor looking dazed and the mom is looking freaked..they look like they just saw a silver ball or sumthin'*

Utilities, EPA Agree on Voluntary Program To Cut Emissions of Sulfur Hexafluoride.

Daily Environment Report, April 15, 1999, pAA-1-2. [Synopsis from EPA's "Enviro Newsbrief"]

EPA and 48 utilities came to an agreement yesterday under which the utilities will voluntarily reduce their emissions of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), a greenhouse gas. The memorandum of understanding is the latest in a series of voluntary programs under the Clinton administration's Climate Change Action Plan.

Under the agreement, the companies will make a benchmark estimation of their SF6 emissions and then complete an emission inventory every year. They will come up with strategies to replace old equipment that is at risk of leaking SF6, and they will develop plans to recycle SF6. The companies will train their employees in the proper handling of SF6-containing equipment and will submit annual progress reports to EPA.

The agency, in return, will act as a clearinghouse for technical information and will provide recognition to utilities that are successful at reducing their emissions. EPA will also try to recruit new participants for the program. SF6 is a potent greenhouse gas. The agency estimates that, pound for pound, its global warming potential is 23,900 times greater than CO2 over a 100-year period. The gas is primarily used as an insulator of high-voltage equipment by utilities.

Though the Kyoto Protocol limited the emissions of the greenhouse gas sulfur hexaflouride (SF6), it does not call for restrictions on trifluoromethyl sulphur pentaflouride (SF5CF3), which shares a common source with SF6 and is the most potent greenhouse gas to date. That's because SF5CF3 was just discovered by researchers from seven institutions in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and reported in the July 28 edition of Science. The scientists found the gas while collecting air samples from Antarctic snow, and are not sure about its exact source though they speculate it originates as a breakdown product of SF6 in high voltage equipment. Its radiative forcing on a per molecule basis is the largest of any gas found to date in the atmosphere, and it has a lifetime of several hundred to a few thousand years. Though the amount of SF5CF3 in the atmosphere is small, researchers stress the importance of controlling its sources. This should prove feasible once the sources are determined, as SF5CF3, unlike CO2, is entirely synthetic and can be targeted for substantial emissions control.

Potent New Greenhouse Gas Discovered

MAINZ, Germany, July 31, 2000 (ENS) - Researchers from seven institutions in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States have detected a previously unreported compound of industrial origin in the atmosphere - trifluoromethyl sulphur pentafluoride (SF5CF3). It is considered the most potent greenhouse gas measured to date.

There is no doubt that the new gas SF5CF3 is made by industry, or is produced during certain processes involving industrial gases, but its exact source remains a mystery.

Analysis of Antarctic snow revealed a new greenhouse gas, SF5CF3. (Photo courtesy National Renewable Energy Lab)

The increase of this peculiar gas in the atmosphere is coupled with the increase of the very inert gas sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), suggesting a common source, according to their article in the journal "Science," a publication of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Emissions of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) are governed by the Kyoto Protocol, an addition to the United Nations climate change treaty. It is one of the six greenhouse gases linked to global warming.

The new greenhouse gas was discovered by scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany, working with researchers from the School of Environmental Science at University of East Anglia in the UK; Ford Motor Company, USA; University of Reading, UK; Natural Environment Research Council in Cambridge, UK; and the University of Frankfurt working with scientists from the British Antarctic Survey.

The scientists speculate that SF5CF3, which is closely chemically related to SF6, originates as a breakdown product of SF6 in high voltage equipment.

SF6 is used in electrical switches to suppress sparks, in protecting metals during a melting process, in tennis balls, car tires and even at one stage in running shoes. Due to its good insulation properties it was also used as a noise barrier in double glazed window panes.

SF6 is a strong greenhouse gas and the molecule is very resistant against attack in the atmosphere. The natural self cleansing property of the atmosphere is insufficient to deal with such super molecules. It has a long lifetime, and being a strong greenhouse gas, its production is now restricted under the Kyoto Protocol.

The new molecule SF5CF3 is even a stronger greenhouse gas. Measurements of its infrared absorption cross section revealed the largest radiative forcing, on a per molecule basis, of any gas found in the atmosphere to date, the discoverers report. It has a long lifetime - somewhere between several hundred and a few thousand years.

The researchers found this new gas while conducting expeditions in Antarctica to extract air samples from the thick firm layers of snow.

These layers, up to 100 meters thick, contain old air, sometimes from the beginning of the last century, according to Carl Brenninkmeijer of the Max Planck Institute.

"This air has been extensively analyzed in our institute and in Norwich, England. The new gas was discovered at extremely low concentrations," he said.

"Without even knowing it, we have been releasing a very potent greenhouse gas for almost 50 years. We have to find the source of this gas and to try to stop its increase," Brenninkmeijer said. END

FACILITIES INSTRUCTIONS, STANDARDS & TECHNIQUES - Volume 5-9

SAFE HANDLING PROCEDURES FOR SF6 EQUIPMENT

CONTENTS

Excerpt:

>>Section 2. Toxicity

2.1. Noncontaminated gas (unused). SF6 gas is odorless, tasteless, colorless, and non-toxic in its pure state. SF6 gas is approximately five times heavier than air and tends to collect in low places, in buildings or equipment. This collection can reduce oxygen levels and can cause suffocation. Suffocation can occur without warning if the oxygen content of air breathed is reduced from the normal 20% to less than 13%.

2.2. Faulted (used) SF6 Gas. Electric arcs in SF6 gas form toxic gases which, in the presence of moist air, have the characteristic odor of rotten eggs. Inhaling the gases can cause nausea, drowsiness, breathing difficulty, damage to the respiratory system and body organs, and death depending on the exposure level and the person's susceptibility.

2.3. Decomposition Products. Decomposition Products. Decomposition products of SF6 gas may be in the form of gases or powders. Solid decomposition products are normally metal flourides in the form of white, tan, or gray powder. Solid decomposition products in the form of powders are very fine and may not always be detected by the human eye, especially when airborne. Skin contact with such powders should be avoided as it may cause rashes, severe irritation, and death. Inhaling airborne dust should be avoided, since as with gaseous products, it may cause breathing difficulty, damage to the respiratory system, and death. Airborne dust can in addition cause eye irritation.<<

FF-SURFACE INFRARED FLOW VISUALIZATION

The off-surface flow visualization technique consists of visualizing the vortex or other off-surface flow phenomena with an infrared imaging system. The wing tip vortex is seeded with a gas that has strong absorbing/emitting characteristics. In this case sulfur hexafluoride gas was entrained in the vortex. The infrared imager used operates in the 8 to 12 micrometer wavelength range of the electromagnetic spectrum. The infrared imager consisted of a single mercury-cadium telluride detector, which was liquid nitrogen cooled for improved thermal sensitivity. The infrared optical system focused the field of view on the detector, and the galvanometers provided the horizontal and vertical scanning of the field of view across the detector. The output of the system was a raster scan video signal that could be displayed on standard video equipment. This video data was then processed using standard image processing equipment. This technique was verified in-flight on NASA research aircraft.

REX84, do you know anybody in Salt Lake that could get us more 1st hand information on the spraying itself? I've noticed that same "Prozac zombie" syndrome myself here in Puget Sound. I know someone who says they start feeling sick when they DON'T spray. When he finds out they're spraying he gets all excited and runs outside for his fix. Bizarre. Deborah, help. I've been following your research, along with everybody else's as well as my own and my head is spinning off my shoulders. I've been researching the plasma/negative ion projects, but failed to make the SF6 connection. About the only new information I can add is that one application of plasma-ion technology is the formation of a practical invisibility screen for aircraft. Back to disappearing chemplanes again. I think you're apt to provide a more balanced and informed synopsis than I can, but so far this is what I've been able to glean...
Scientists were recently shocked to discover an unaccountably large presence of SF6 in the atmosphere. They literally don't where all this stuff is coming from. SF6 persists in the atmosphere for thousands of years. It doesn't dissipate. The DOE decides to spray Salt Lake City with this "harmless" compound in an effort to study it. Except, it isn't exactly harmless. And as it turns out, SF6 is a primary component in advanced military plasma/ion projects with regards to propulsion and visual invisibility, among other things. Is this an accurate estimate of the situation?

Halloween Fluoride Death Fog

The Donora Fluoride Fog: A Secret History of America's Worst Air Pollution Disaster www.earthisland.org/eijournal/fall98/fe_fall98donora.html

The anniversary of the worst recorded industrial air pollution accident in US history- which occurred 50 years ago this October in Donora, Pennsylvania - will go virtually unmarked.

The Donora incident, which killed 20 and left hundreds seriously injured and dying, was caused by fluoride emissions from the Donora Zinc Works and steel plants owned by the US Steel Corporation.

In the aftermath of the accident, US Steel conspired with US Public Health Service (PHS) officials to cover up the role fluoride played in the tragedy. This charge comes from Philip Sadtler, a top industrial chemical consultant who conducted his own research at the scene of the disaster.

Fifty years later, Earth Island Journal has learned, vital records of the Donora investigation are missing from PHS archives. Fifty years later, US Steel continues to block access to their records of the Donora disaster, including a crucial air chemical analysis taken on the final night of the tragedy...
