Is any one else seeing black helicopters……not police helicopters mind you, but flat black military looking types with no markings? After my encounter today,(see Engine Mod thread) I did a little web search and came up with this identification site: Infocom.com

If anyone else is seeing these, I'd appreciate you mention the type. I believe the one that buzzed me was the first type listed, the KIOWA (military version of the Bell JetRanger)

BLACK HELICOPTER I.D. KIT!

Who are those guys?

Butch Cassidy

The "Black Helicopter" enigma has been with us for many years, and has been linked to UFO sightings, cattle mutilations, and other unexplained phenomena. Since 1993, however, the "Black Helicopter" has become a much more common sight, appearing independently of the "strange event" which once was required to "attract" these craft. Sometimes alone, sometimes in small groups, and occasionally being escorted by conventional military helicopters, these unidentified craft have become a common sight in the skies.
The "KIOWA" is the military version of the Jet Ranger

The "Black Helicopters" share a number of characteristics: Completely flat black in color, they show no identification whatsoever. The windows are tinted, preventing observers from seeing inside. While sometimes seen in conventional traffic patterns, they commonly fly very low, just above treetop altitude, even over residential areas. This shows a disregard for (or immunity from) FAA regulations.
Although the "Black Helicopters" operate openly in the public eye, public discussion of the enigma seems to be frowned upon. A recent call-in program on WLW radio was taking calls from people curious about the wave of sightings in the Cinncinnatti - Dayton area when the Station Manager killed the topic. Some of the ensuing argument with the DJ went out over the air.

So, who are these guys? Speculation abounds, running from secret military elite units to Drug Enforcement agents. The latest theory is that they are carrying foreign soldiers under the authority of the United Nations, "New World Order Storm Troopers". Take your pick, or make up your own theory, but the truth is that whoever these guys are, they're not talking!

Although the general characteristics of the "Black Helicopters" remains constant, the type varies. The commonly seen varieties are as follows:
UH-1 "HUEY- This is by far the most commonly seen helicopter. This Viet-Nam era workhorse is known for the "Thump-thump-thump" sound it makes in flight. This is a result of the two-bladed rotor head. The blade tips travel faster than sound when in forward flight, and the shockwave creates the distinctive sound. The enemy knew far in advance of an approaching flight of Huey Gunships.

Originally designated "HU-1 Iroquois", the craft soon picked up the nickname "Huey" as a corruption of HU-1. This sort of thing really upsets the military, so the designation was changed to UH-1, but it was too late... It's still the "Huey", like it or not. (The same thing happened to the A-10 Thunderbolt II, which soon became known as the "Warthog".)

AH-1 COBRA - This is a mean one. The Cobra is fast and tough, and carries a variety of armaments, including several types of rockets under the stubby "winglets", and a nose-turret mounted chain gun. It shares the rotor mechanics with the Huey, and so generates the same sound. It is easy to recognize, however, by it's distinctive shape. The Pilot sits behind and above the weapons officer, so the craft is very narrow. When a Cobra turns tward you, it almost dissappears. This helicopter has been seen in "Black" configuration in Michigan and Tennessee.

CH-53 SEA STALLION - This helicopter is in use by the Navy and Coast Guard. Noted for it's reliability and range, (both good characteristics when flying over water!) it is the helicopter used to fly the President from place to place. The only known sighting of this craft in "Black" configuration was reported (and photographed!) by a group of people who attempted to drive into the restricted area surrounding Area 51 near Groom Lake, NV. The helicopter actually bounced it's wheels on the roof of the car!

CH-47 Chinook - This one is impossible to mistake for anything else. The Chinook is shaped like a banana with a rotor on each end. Designed for heavy lifting, this craft can carry a lot of men and/or equipment. A "black" version is occasionally reported, and one landed on the shore of Lake Michigan North of Chicago a few years ago. A group of men wearing black uniforms and carrying M-16's emerged, formed a perimeter, and "dug in". When a local Sheriff Deputy approached them, he was run off at gun point.
Unmarked black Chinooks were seen and filmed during the raid on the Branch Davidian compound at WACO. One can be seen in the video footage, flying over the flaming buildings.

OV-10 Bronco - Not a helicopter, but a conventional aircraft, the OV-10 is occasionally associated with "spook" activity. It was reported in the New York State area frequently durring the sightings of triangular UFO's which occurred there a few years ago. NASA also flies the OV-10, sometimes with strange instrument packages afixed to the wings or nose.

A dozen OV-10's were recently acquired by the BATF. These aircraft are jammed full of high-tech electronics and have hard points under the wings and fuselage for the attachment of heavy armament. The tail numbers on these craft are registered to "American Warbirds, Inc.," a non- existing company. What the BATF, essentially a tax- collecting agency, needs with high-performance ground-attack aircraft is not known.

C-130 HERCULES - This four-engined transport has not been reported in "Black" configuration, but it is a very common sight, and at night is often mistaken for a UFO. Flown extensively by the National Guard, it is commonly seen flying low and slow. Several members of a Sheriff department chased a "group of low-flying UFO's" all over Northern Ohio one night at speeds up to 100 MPH, only to follow them to Mansfield Lahm airport where they landed and took their place beside the other C-130's of the 179th Air National Guard. One thing to keep in mind is that the C-130 is capable of carrying a lot of men. It can also carry a UH-1 Huey.

Good luck, and Happy Birdwatching!

I have'nt seen any choppers buzzing me, but this is an interesting website.

Operation Garden Plot http://apfn.org/THEWINDS/archive/newworld/peacekeep7-97.html

"It was during the Reagan years that many of the domestic military and intelligence programs were instituted. Operation Garden Plot is the code name for the use of coordinated military action in law enforcement at any time during a civil disturbance within the fifty states, District of Columbia, and possessions and territories The operation of the FBI's COINTELPRO Domestic Counter Intelligence Program, FEMA Federal Emergence Management Agency, and JTTF Joint Terror Task Force, all give the government the authority to step in and immediately crush any civil disturbance or turmoil which might occur. Civil disturbances are defined as riots, acts of violence, insurrection, unlawful obstruction or assemblage, or other disorders prejudicial to public law and order.

Urban Warfare Training has been conducted in Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Washington, Charlotte, and may be coming to a city near you. These exercises may be calculated to condition the American people to the sights and sounds of warfare in their neighborhoods. About ten mock invasions of major U.S. cities occur each year. The Charlotte Observer reports on one such invasion in March of this year, "Without warning, helicopters swooped over Third Ward, scaring residents with sounds of simulated bombs and gunfire as commandos stormed a vacant warehouse. They used training ammunition designed to look and sound like the real thing, with flash-bangs and people jumping out of helicopters. About 100 Army special operations troops descended on uptown for a secret drill. 12 helicopters, including special Black Hawks, swooped in. Charlotte residents, rattled by hovering choppers and noises that sounded like explosions, flooded police and city offices with complaints."

"The world is witnessing, on a massive global scale, the lethal conditioning of humanity. Whole populations can so easily become desensitized to the significance of the most earth-shaking events happening around them. As exemplified in the degradation of the moral and ethical character of our military, what seems reprehensible and abhorrent at the outset, slowly becomes reasonable and justified after a period of conditioning."

The National Guard were busy here, last weekend on the 5th, had to avoid them while I was flying with my neighbor. Flashed them once, a big smile, and now I can't get rid of them. I hate it when they do their night training. One almost hit my house, a few years ago, during a huge windstorm in the middle of the night. I guess they were attracted to the infrared signiature of my roof and chimney. I don't know. The lights and noise, were enough to really give me the jitters.

Cy- thank you for the pictures! I guess that my first black helicopter was about 6 months ago. I agree with you, I think that most of the ones that fly directly over my house. (maybe had about 5 that I've noticed) are KIOWA. We have a lot of Chinooks here, but they are all Army green, and I assume are going to Fort Bragg. We also have Ospreys here. These Ospreys are not the white/blue like the ones on the news, they are Army green. Two of them flew directly over me in a grocery store parking lot. Scared the pants off me, they are totally silent, I only knew they were there because I was suddenly covered by a giant shadow as they passed over. By far the most unnerving experience so far was about 3 weeks ago. My husband and I were in the house, suddenly we heard the deafening sound of aircraft. (which SOUNDED like helicopters) I ran outside just in time to see about 4 planes fly over my backyard. They looked like they were going to hit my tallest trees. I estimate that they were approximately 200 feet up. It took me about an hour to stop shaking. I certainly don't think it was an accident that they flew THAT low over my house! Anyway, I tryed to look up the plane, and gave up after a few hours of searching. But from your info it looks like the planes were the C-130 Hercules. They were green, I tried to read the bottom of the wings as they flew over, but the lettering was in black, and there was an amerikan flag on the wing underside. Thanks again!

I have seen the Chinook type black helicopters fly over the plant I work at. Not every week but fairly often. I live close to the Crane Naval Weapons Station so I always figured that was where they were going.

About 4 months ago we were watching tv in the evening and heard a very loud, low flying helicopter. When we went out in the yard it was flying over the neighborhood with it's search light on. Couldn't tell what kind it was, probably State Police, but it sure was exciting at the time.
