During my recent adventure at Joshua Tree I observed black line 'tracers' preceeding CT's. The thing of it is, this ocurred well after sundown... precluding the possibility of this being a shadow being cast by the trail.Other random observations:
The trails 'strips' that Thermit refers to were the norm, rather than exception. I witnessed planes laying CT strips directly over strips that had been previously deployed.
The trails had a more 'cloudlike' appearance. Not the smeary looking 'cloud' cover that is prevalent in the Northwest. On one ocassion, I watched the chemcover mature into what appeared to be a stormfront: dark, roiling clouds that threatened rain.
Also of interest; I experienced no adverse symptoms despite constant exposure to the trails for almost a month. Based upon my observations, I can only conclude that the focus of the operation is on weather modification in this particular part of the country...
