Yakima Valley.. 2:45 We've got lots of normal clouds. They look like they could contain rain, but that's hoping for too much. Just a few trails up above the regular clouds, not many. Enjoying the cool temperature break still.

Marietta Ohio took a good pounding again today. Rain started before lunch but I could still hear the jets above. I guess they continued to spray through the showers,.I have never noticed them do this before.keep looking up. roman...

7-17-01 Milwaukee Despite "their" massive campaign yesterday, it rained for most of the morning. Hazy after that, but no trails noticed.

7/17/01 Kelowna, BC South Central Okanagan at 8:30 PM PST ~ A break in the storm clouds for past two days revealed contrails lingering. One bright white contrail was sheared off. Must have been a dry patch up there, eh?

Sorry guys I am a little behind, here is yesterdays forecast...if your area is mentioned specifically please tell me yes this a correct report for your area or no it is not....it has been incorrect for my area (near Charlotte) the last two reports... I will try to post the report for today in a little while...blessings ms Another day of lots of high-level moisture over much of the U.S. Only dry spots are a narrow ribbon coming into the CA/Mexico border just south of San Diego reaching up through AZ and into southern UT. There is almost zero chance for contrails near this ribbon of dry air. Another dry location with very short-lived contrails (or none) exists in IA and MO this AM. This patch of dry air is shrinking in size this AM and moving eastward into IL. Some light showers and weak thunderstorms are developing nearby this region so conditions won't remain dry aloft through the whole day. Best chance for no contrails is just south of Minneapolis down to Des Moines then to St. Louis. If thunderstorms hold off long enough contrails are also not likely to the east of this line into western IL but I suspect storms will fire later today and cirrus will blow off the tops of these storms.
Charlotte is showing rather moist conditions this AM so I suspect contrails there now and for most of the day. Individual contrails may last up to an hour at this time with more and longer lifespans as the day progresses. Denver has an even higher chance for contrails as tons of upper-level moisture streams up from Mexico toward my location. Lots of milky skies right now with no actual contrails visible yet. Today is a stark contrast to the perfect blue from yesterday - and note how different the water vapor image is today from yesterday - little to no moisture Monday but lots of it today. PA has lots of moisture and cirrus clouds so contrails should last for hours there today. Likewise for much of MI but storms are moving in from west so skies will be covered in clouds later today anyway. NM is also quite moist today so expect contrails lasting 1-4 hours there. TX is borderline dry with likely only few or short-lived contrails near both Houston and Dallas but not far west TX where there is more moisture.

Yakima Valley... 7/18 10:15 a.m. Well.. we're getting slammed here today, the sky is approching total white out conditions. Just when I thought it was safe to breathe the air again. The sprayers must have been at it early this morning or else this stuff floated in from somewhere. Looks like they could be coming from the west side. Another hour or so and we won't have any blue sky showing.

Southern Indiana/Gibson&Knox Co7/17/01- no visible trails, lots of "dirty clouds" with rainbow effects, very high humidity-bad "asthma" day. 7/18/01 - threat of storms all morning, black clouds moving very fast, rolling thunder and lightening. Storm hit about 12:30pm CST - heavy rain for a half-hour followed by an hour of soft rain. Sky is now (2:00pm CST) that tinny bright ugly white that so many of us know - humidity is extreme!! - I will be inside all day today Anita P.S. - wonder if any of you out there have noticed problems with your pools...I have been having to treat mine every 3 days...Low PH and high algae.

Portland area in Maine chemmed today. I've seen worse but the haze is growing now.Didn't see any jets for a few days but lots of chem clouds creeping in anyway-so it wasn't like good, clear, free days. Hey, it's not nice to let chem clouds drift from your state to another one!

Just got back from a trip to Hood River Oregon. We woke up yesterday morning to the sight of trails everywhere in the sky over Hood River. It was so bad I had to take a few pictures. We watched the haze drift eastward ahead of a storm heading up from the south. Got back home to Yakima last night with storm clouds overhead...but still we get no rain. I'm wondering if they sprayed Dyno-gel in this area ahead of the storm.

7-19-01 Milwaukee Overcast all day, couldn't notice any trails. Very humid. 7-20-01 Milwaukee Trails seen all day long in the city and the surrounding countryside. Also saw my first "colored cloud." To the naked eye it was white, but with sunglasses I could see every color in the rainbow in this cloud. Very peculiar

Hey Cougar, I often am trying to capture one of those colored clouds on film. Mark Sky has a good shot of one on High Hopes I think. I am trying to hold my sunglasses over the lense of my camera but haven't managed that yet. If you get a chance to do that and it works, please post it. Here is a great WI chemsite (I am from Madtown and have relatives in all those Northwoods places): http://www.frontiernet.net/~ridgelin/Trails.htm Here in Maine I saw many planes fly over the chemway above my house. I taped 'em and sometimes there were 2 in one frame so I imagine they were military - kind off too far to see well. They left small quick leaving trails, but when I see 20 or so jets fly through there in an hour I suspect they were dumping somewhere. Air is still hazey and pink at sunset. I believe it is now almost a month since there was a true blue sky day here in southern Maine.

Chemdome type of day here in NW Louisiana. Faded-blue sky early in day with some clouds, later in day, reddish-beige mist if you squinted to see it, turning into total dirty-white-out by late afternoon. Chemplanes, sounding fairly low could be HEARD all day but no visuals what-so-ever...very strange! This has been the case here for several days now. Scenario changed, before, all kinds of chemplane visuals at various altitudes, but no SOUND evident or very low if at all...something is definitely changing...the sky appearance is different but still very suspect. Blessings, Joanne ^j^

After an entire week of Partly Cloudy/ Mostly Hazy, Today it is beautiful! Dark blue sky. Almost looks real, til you notice that the trees look superimposed... Anyway, this is much preferable to any weather we have had for months!
