Wow. Yes, I'm getting here rather late to the party (didn't get an invitation, had to stagger in).You folks all know there are blood stains and drenched hankies everywhere, correct (though only a couple here seem to notice)?
I'm sorry to say I have no overt "sympathy" for the likes of Cy. He's not the first, doubt he'll be the last to self-destruct over this issue. I've little doubt that he's more than "misguided", or even potentially dangerous (to himself or others). Those that were asking him to "get help" were genuine -- a counselor, a psychiatrist, maybe even a good deprogrammer -- but get help he should.
No one "made" him do what he did, it was purely voluntary by his own admission (and I'll stand corrected if he cares to answer this to the contrary) -- so then he should step out on his own and seek help.
Purely in retrospect, I think those that were putting up with his crap actually tolerated it for so long that he thought he was God or something.
But me, personally, how do I feel? Well, try that aggressive, threatening crap on a board against someone with a healthy dose of self-respect AND an honest lack of tolerance for hate mongers some time -- someone who can manage to find the FBI's branch office phone number in their local telephone directory, and who knows that "terroristic threats" are not covered by the rules of "free speech". I no only won't mince words, but you WILL be visited by the authorities -- and a "suicide threat" would make reason number two for them, probably even hasten the process of your being Baker-acted [that means taken into mental health custody against your own will, if you need a translation -- I wouldn't wish that on you, Cy, but you are asking for it in no uncertain terms].
Part of being a human being isn't just "taking responsibility for your actions" after-the-fact (when it's too late), it's HAVING THE COMMON SENSE TO HAVE A CARE ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE. Lack of this common human trait is known by many names -- merely two of which are "psychotic" and "sociopathic".
The rest of you can cry to yourselves, and humor yourselves, and call it all a big "cry for help" if you like -- that's great if you want to believe it. I'll tell you I'm sincerely touched by your generosity. I think Cy actually wants to believe it as well (as that would "let him off the hook", so to speak -- "just a weak moment", you see.)
Personally, I think it's more like alligator tears, and my love for Cy is much like the love one might have for a pet alligator. Gators only "love" you as long as they're fed -- stop "feeding" them (or if they feel you're not feeding them), and then they'll snap at you like any other potential meal. And if they're big enough, they'll try to drag you under as well -- where they can live comfortably for quite some time, where you'll perish in just a few short minutes, and where you definitely WILL "feed them", but just not at all how you'd planned.
Cy himself would've called his recant "whining" -- and that reason alone is why I have absolutely no pity for it, as "pity" is by it's very nature hypocritical.
Sorry to register these comments so late, but the carnage wrought by this individual's words and actions is unmistakable, and I am VERY glad it was confined only to the boards.
If I had been so offended by this person, I would not hesitate to contact the proper authorities -- alligator tears or not.
