Ditto to what amber says above, David. I don't believe the debunker whos "not so nice about it" will ever be forthcoming with an apology either. He won't apologise for something he purposely intended to do, and even if he did,, do you think there would be any genuine sincerity behind it? Nahhhh

David, I'm not trying to abandon you, I've gotten into arguments before in chat rooms, and it only gets me upset and frustrated. Like it or not, this is how it works I think. To me it's the easiest way to make use of the 1st Ammendment. I have to accept that there are people I disagree with or even dislike for whatever reason, but it's the trade-off you make for being able to express yourself.I hope none of this will keep you from posting. We need everyones feedback. We are all bound to disagree on some things. I hate to get into choosing sides as I've done before, but I understand how you might feel. If there are 'plants' in chatrooms, in this chatroom, it's beyond my control, but I guess it's your right to fight it if that's how you feel. I'm just saying I've tried it and got burned out. I've accepted the fact that many people think differently about things and I can't change it. If, as Amber has stated.... "The bad feeling has come from a) David was suddenly singled out - the new copy and paste with research rule came as a shock to the rest of us who had been happily copying and pasting sans research for eons!"... Then I can see your point. I just missed that whole thing. I sure don't research everything or every link I post. I usually do read it through and if it has validity to me, I'll post it.

Hey Molliani,I stuck up for NSASucks too, but I didn't agree with everything he said. BTW, I even remember thinking you were a plant at one time because you posted something written by "The Halfwit From Indiana....demonic chickendeb entity" ! It didn't take long to realize I made a mistake and jumped to conclusions. That's how wrapped up I was getting into the CTC chatroom! To be honest, I think we take this too seriously sometimes. I mean the idea that everyone in the world is reading this. It's an important topic, and you never know who is checking it out, but I don't think anything I'm posting will change the world. I'd like to think it would, but have to accept the possibility or maybe likelihood that no one really gives a damn about what we say, except each other?

Just wanted to make a comment on this thread... I took the time tonight to read the postings in this thread for the first time. After taking some time to think about what was being said I've come to a few conclusions of my own.It seems to me that some of the most interesting people here that post some of the most controversial and informative stories usually catch the most flack from the debunkers. Must be cause they're hitting a nerve. Maybe it should be considered a compliment of sorts. I for one don't think that it's going to be very easy to find out the absolute truth to very many of the stories that we cut and paste here. But I must admit that those stories that I find most interesting I'll usually do some follow up research of my own. It's the only way I can be satisfactorily convinced that a story in not just another rumor or hoax. Now... I know this place isn't a replacement for the news media... even alternative news media--but there have been enough stories posted on this forum to keep me digging and learning about subjects that I never knew existed. Talk about getting an education. I'd like to say thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum...your input is very important and don't be intimidated into quitting. We still have the freedom of speech in this country so in that one sense we're not losing the battle yet.

Thanks, all, for being patient with me. My husband began having chills and fever and threw up once, so he has begun taking the doxycycline. It's probably just the flu, but knowing that he'll be okay is making me feel better. (The security people just irradiated the letter--didn't check it for spores, so we don't know whether it was contaminated or not. Now hubby has to find a place that does blood tests for anthrax.)Let me take this opportunity to publicly apologize to David for singling out his post and insisting that he should have verified it before posting. That's the standard in the Science Forum, but not on the rest of the board, and it was unfair of me to suggest that David had done something improper.

David Don't give up. Rise above this mess. YOU are NOT the person who is lacking creditability or a sullied reputation. That should be obvious to most posters. You have a good heart David ..... take care of it. This is for you: A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt in the wake of the recent tragedies. He said, "I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one." The grandson asked him, "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart grandfather?" The grandfather answered, "The one I feed."

Great parable(?) Molliani,I'm going to forward that one to friends. Maybe you or someone could start a topic about positive thoughts, stories like this. We could use some more encouragement like that! There is so much negativity out there in the media and our everyday world, it can be really oppressive if we give in to it. To me the media/govt. has always been about fear...telling us who to be afraid of and who to hate. TPTB need to keep us in fear and at odds with each other so we'll keep looking to them for answers to our problems, IMO. They need to keep us under control to keep the whole rotten mess going their way. ....oops, there I go being negative. Looks like I need to be feeding the other wolf!

Defender I fight with that wolf too, but we can seek truth and justice without feeding the beast. The story kind of reminds me of RTW and a post by Delphi. I wish them well.

The rest of the story:The doxycycline was making my husband sick. He found out that the blood test for anthrax isn't reliable, and the nasal swabs require that the bug actually be grown out in culture. So he didn't know if he should take a chance and discontinue the doxycycline.
By then he had the heavily-irradiated and sterile letter back from the security people. He called the pharmacy-related company in Maryland which had sent the letter. He found out that the hand lettering was actually done by computer. The company does that, omits the return address and uses regular stamps to increase the chances that busy doctors will open their advertising rather than fling it directly into the trash. They've done it that way for 10 years. Then came the anthrax problem. The company has received thousands of telephone calls and has seen the light. So hubby doesn't have anthrax, and it was all a false alarm. Whew! In case you're wondering, I've deleted hubby's name from the address. What remains is that of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
