This months Popular Science Magazine talks about a company called Dyn-O-Mat located in Southern Florida. I found a similar article written on KRISTV Channel 6 news web site. Here it is:

"OUR GOAL IS TO TAKE A PIE SHAPE OUT OF THE HURRICANE OUT OF THE EYE A PIE-SHAPED PIECE IF WE CAN TAKE THAT OUT WE'LL TURN THE WINDS INTO THEMSELVES AND WILL COLLAPSE THE STORM." WITH PERMISSION FROM THE GOVERNMENT. CORDANI WANTS TO SPREAD THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF DYNO-GEL INTO THE NEXT MASSIVE HURRICANE USING MILITARY CARGO PLANES HE THINKS HIS PRODUCT CAN SHRINK A HURRICANE FROM A CATEGORY 5 TO A LESS DANGEROUS CATEGORY 2 HURRICANE.
