Wow. The level of detail on the zoom is amazing. I have to ask Mark, what program are you using to zoom in on this photo?

hey there Chem 11~ glad to see someone is still awake how you doin? i just have a scanner from HP i think it was about a 120 dollar one that was referbished and sold for 70 bucks a year ago it does have a way to isolate the frame perameters in a small area of the image and blow them up to kingdom come i try to shoot low ASA film~with high emulsion density even if i have to hold very still the quality always degrades from that momment i have found so the initial image is what is important "Excellent lens and film" from there i go down hill rapidly in equipment just like my home sterio i got 15"woofers 6X9 midrange horn tweeters in a huge base reflex box driven by a 12 watt reciever because i am strange but it works by golly

Wide awake, Mr. Sky! Sleep is for the sheep and the faint-of-heart. Plenty of time for rest in the grave.I've never owned a scanner and was thus unaware of the equipment's zoom capability. Beats the hell out of my imaging software, apparently. You definately seem to be on a roll with that camera of yours; first the webstrands, now this. 'This' just happens to be one of the clearest daylight photographs of an anomalous airframe ever captured. This isn't just good, Mark. It is, in all seriousness, historic. Next question: did you notice this craft at the time that the photograph was taken? PS - As any audiophile will tell you, the speakers are the most important component of an audio system... and with with a 12-watt amp, you'll never have to worry about blowing them out!

Never have gotten my hands on one of those venerable old tube amps, but that doesn't mean I can't bask in the warm thrill of confusion from present day glowing blue amplification. Perhaps one day I will even be fortunate enough to watch the talking heads on my very own flat screen plasma- powered idiot box.And speaking of that space cadet glow: Solarized to bring out a little more detail and definition. The craft shows a definate concavity at the point where it is emitting a trail. I originally assumed that the lighter (darker in this enhanced version), curved 'section' was part of the craft. Now I have my doubts... The shadowing and edge enhancement lead me to believe this might be an emission of some sort. On the other hand, it's geometry and the similar effect it has on the surrounding atmosphere lend credence to the theory that it is phsyically part of the craft. Perhaps it is somehow both...

Wow marksky, what a picture! I didn't see it till just now, I guess I am a bit behind this week, but WOW! It looks like a manta ray or some kind of ray swimming through the sky.I know there have been alot of weird looking objects in the sky lately, but this one, so far really does take the cake, I must agree with Chem11.

You might think about submitting this to Tracers, Mark...I see you snatched the slickest avatar for your own greedy-self, KnewEyes. I have a long standing 'no avatar' policy but I figure I might as well play with the darned thing until Thermit gets sick of seeing Bert and Ernie and Simpson avatars on his site!

Agreed! Pointing was a close second but I thought I'd leave that for Dumbfounded, seeing as how it was taken by a commercial pilot for a major carrier who somehow isn't suffering under the delusion that all is well... Definately you, KnewEyes.

Gosh Mark... you seem to be getting really handy with that camera of yours.... I've got a lot of questions here about that picture but not sure you'll know the answers to all of them so just a couple here for now.Is it a somewhat normal occurance to see UFO's around Mt. Shasta? That trail that's following behind the craft... how far does it extend into the rest of the picture? It looks like something is either being sprayed or it's maybe just exhaust since it doesn't seem to resemble the chemtrails in the picture. Just a thought...but maybe this craft is sketching out some kind of line for the chemtrails to follow with their sprays. Have you ever had the luck to photograph a UFO before?

Catnip57~ I will try to answer your questions{Is it a somewhat normal occurance to see UFO's around Mt. Shasta?} Yes, at least thats what people around there say~ many people moved there because of the flying sausers~ i don't live there, so i wound not know how prevelent they are. {That trail that's following behind the craft... how far does it extend into the rest of the picture?} Not very far, you can see it best in the second photo~ on the far right side, just a little over half way up~ Thats as far as the white streek goes. {It looks like something is either being sprayed or it's maybe just exhaust since it doesn't seem to resemble the chemtrails in the picture.} It protrudes as a point in front of the object~ and behind the object, as can be seen in the blowup, it almost seems to in back of the object. {Just a thought...but maybe this craft is sketching out some kind of line for the chemtrails to follow with their sprays.} i dont know {Have you ever had the luck to photograph a UFO before?} No, but i have caught other unusual things, that i did not know were there until i got the film back.
