Step right up folks and get your jelly beans.Town stages mock bioterror attack http://www.msnbc.com/news/737861.asp?0dm=H15PH McALESTER, Okla., April 12 — One of the most complex bioterrorism drills ever undertaken began Friday with a World War II-era airplane buzzing the city to simulate a deadly attack and doctors handing out thousands of jelly beans as pretend medicine. Key quote from article: "Under the make-believe scenario, the C-47 airplane released a fine spray containing pneumonic plague." I don't know about where you live, but around here there appears to be PLENTY of reason to be concerned about a PNEUMONIC PLAGUE. Go talk to a general practioner. I did, just last week. He had personally been fighting a respiratory illness for two months with three different antibiotics. From his point of view this has been a VERY BAD winter. One chilling quote: "We cannot treat pneumonia anymore." Young and old are especially vulnerable. Like I said, drill...what drill? Also note: "Within a few hours of the staged attack, law enforcement officials began arriving at the county health department to pick up one-week dosages of the antibiotics Cipro and doxycycline — jelly beans, actually — for officers and their families." Yep, we know who will have priority treatment.

....."Under the make-believe scenario, the C-47 airplane released a fine spray containing pneumonic plague."..... I am wondering about the choice of wording here. It seems to me that there should be a more clear-cut indication of the fact that this "fine spray" of "pneumonic plague" was a simulant and not active microbial material.
This whole situation is taking on the aura of some big, out-of-control Video Game. I wonder how the [selected] Boy Scouts felt about being taken to a "fake morgue." By the way, similar exercises are planned for, or have already taken place recently in Detroit, MI, North Carolina and Florida. I guess we can expect quite a bit of this kind of thing this summer.

One chilling quote: "We cannot treat pneumonia anymore." Young and old are especially vulnerablewhich the reason being, is over-zealous doctors and their *liberal* standards of prescribing anti-biotics... "Within a few hours of the staged attack, law enforcement officials began arriving at the county health department to pick up one-week dosages of the antibiotics Cipro and doxycycline — jelly beans, actually — for officers and their families." Yep, we know who will have priority treatment. your the master at taking things out of context to fit your agenda throat...the goal was to treat the people, not just law enforcement..."1000 themometers, child's dosing spoon and dosing syringes were given away", and I hate to inform you, but there's not 1000 law enforcement fellers in MCalester...sheesh... This whole situation is taking on the aura of some big, out-of-control Video Game. I wonder how the [selected] Boy Scouts felt about being taken to a "fake morgue." I'll here more about it tomorrow, but from the reports on the news last night...the children had a blast ! (sidenote) the event in MCalester was put together by these agencies : Pittsburg co. health dept. MCalester medical community Emergency services Red cross

Deb; We are not grade school children,we all understood the "pneumonic plague" was a simulant and not active microbe material. You may get the real thing along with the rest of us some day. In the mean time "take a hike".

Hi Jeanie -I was commenting on this particular article's choice of words, which I personally found to be a little strange in view of all the similar articles I've read which _clearly indicate_ these test substances to be *simulants*. I'm sorry you thought I was being condescending to members of this forum. That was not the case at all. Do you still want me to "take a hike"? DEBORAH

Jeanie,The Deb that describes herself as "just a housewife" apparenly doesn't have kids to take to soccer practice, ballet classes, take dry cleaning in, shop for groceries, clean house, pay bills, keep the garden under control, or any other of the myriad things that a housewife (or house husband) find eating away at their available time. This particular "housewife" has her own web site to debunk ChemTrails, something that she believes don't exist. Interesting priorities. And by the way, there couldn't be a greater difference from Deborah who has been one of the most tireless and productive CT researchers to contribute to the boards over the past several years. I'm sure yours was an honest error. By the way, in some cases such tests have been performed with live or irradiated bacteria. One must trust that officials are correct in their assessment of potential health consequences to the population. http://pub8.ezboard.com/fchemtrailschemtrails.showMessage?topicID=6070.topic History shows that they have failed miserably on several occasions. So you say the kids had great fun pretending to be at the morgue. What a wholesome activity seeker. I trust you encouraged your children to participate.

So you say the kids had great fun pretending to be at the morgue. What a wholesome activity seeker. I trust you encouraged your children to participate. I encourage MINE to volunteer when they can...helping folks and learning in the process is a good thing and a wholesome activity....working together with others towards a common goal is important...helps keep them from growing up to be paranoids...know what I mean throat ? here's the actual quote below, it would be nice if you read the articles before you post them...and let me add if I were about 8-13 years old and a boy scout the bus ride ambulance and mostly the army munitions plant visit would be alot of fun...not to mention the fake blood and bandages...YEE-HAW ! Nearly 700 volunteers will administer fake antibiotics at five spots around town Saturday morning. About 60 Boy Scouts will act as patients Saturday at McAlester’s Army Ammunitions Plant, where doctors will set up a triage station. Many of the boys will go to the hospital by ambulance and bus; some will go to a fake morgue. good nite sweetie
