Early spraying was in evidence today in Houston (11/14). While the south-east portion of the sky had strange rippled Chemclouds, the north side of the sky had a long fat trail running east-west. Various "matchstick" trail segments were and are scattered across the sky oriented in many directions. The spraying has continued all morning for hours. Moments ago I watched a plane begin leaving a persistent trail, the beginning of this trail had a razor-sharp edge, very unnatural looking. After about 10 seconds of travel time the persistent trail stopped, the resulting segment hangs in the air still and is one of the stranger segments I've seen. There are no natural clouds in the sky today, although there is a haze building. Maybe we'll have a sunring this afternoon!

Trails went on all day, leading to bizarre skies. At one point there was at least 35% coverage of the sky from my vantage point. The crowning glory of the day would have to be the 3-Trail Wagon Wheel seen by many just before sunset. Three trails intersecting perfectly at a common point, lit up in blazing pink by the setting sun. Have never seen an asterix configuration in person before, this didn't correlate with the flight paths that I'm familiar with in Houston. Took some pictures with a cheap disposable camera, will post them if the come out. Others saw this unusual configuration too, here's a report by Alcor originally posted at Swedishoo's board: quote:
Neat! Just off to the North, three trails crossing making a 6 spoke "wheel". All three intersect at the "hub" at the exactly the same altitude, and all are evenly spaced apart around the "hub". HAD to be deliberate. Haven't seen this one before. Nice red colour in the sunset, took a few shots, I'll see if they come out or not so Christy can post them.Al
