The UNEP report is a PDF file and takes quite a while to load, even on a high speed connection.Sorry. Can't say what's happening on the MSNBC link. It's also possible that since this is just out...and that this is such a "hot topic", their servers are simply overloaded.

I saw something about this on tonight's ABC Evening News. They had an animation of how massive the haze is, how it's blocking the sun, and how it is effecting people there (death, respiratory illnesses, etc). Sad to see Asian children wearing those masks that cover your nose and mouth, and people walking down the street just trying to get to work having to hold tissues over their faces. For some reason, ABCNews.com doesn't have the story up yet. I did find it on a couple others. Asian haze poses 'widespread threat' - BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/2182783.stm Borneo fires may intensify 'Asian brown haze' - New Scientist http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99992660 UN Report: Asian Haze Cloud Affects Climate - VOA News http://www.voanews.com/article.cfm?objectID=DDC49F72-1F37-4C53-AC2EE819160D2D0A&title=UN%20Report%3A%20Asian%20Haze%20Cloud%20Affects%20Climate&catOID=45C9C787-88AD-11D4-A57200A0CC 5EE46C A search for "Asian Haze" on Google will bring up a bunch of articles and images too.
