Last Friday in the late afternoon I noticed a trail, which started low on the southern horizon. The "jet" making this trail climbed at a very steep rate. At first I thought could this be new piece of the puzzle, more new technology. As it approached overhead I was able to make out what appeared to be the normal type of "aircraft" that I have seen many, many times before.

I can honestly say I have never seen this type of craft make such a steep ascent. I heard other people who witnessed this; mention they thought it was some type of rocket test. The angle of ascent was almost vertical, and then it flattened out and eventually started its descent leaving a very long and visible trail, which eventually drifted eastward.

Also I heard a local weather forecaster last Friday morning say "see the contrails which are left by jets as they zip through the area" When I looked at what she was talking about, it was the remainder of an earlier contrail which had dissipated and then spread out. I will have to say this forecaster may be starting to wake up, because two months ago, she mentioned these were ship trails when she was showing a satellite image of the west coast.
