I havent been able to fly or even go photograph airliners for the last 2 days because of this dang storm. Its starting to get to me. Couple of nights ago, I sat outside for a few hours logging all the contrails I saw. You should have seen it, it was beautiful, the sun was just setting, and the reflection of the sun off of a Delta 767 was remarkable. The contrails that night dissapated quite quickly, the only lasted about 10-20 seconds, but that made it much easier to find them up there. It was neat because EVERY cruising airliner was leaving these temporary contrails. You could see at least 15 airliners in cruise over PHX at any one time. You could easily see a Southwest 737 and a Delta 767 both heading the same direction very close together, and they both looked like they were at comparable speed. They looked like they were in loose formation just cruising toward the setting sun. (Note: It was completely safe, they were probably 6-7 miles apart.) Of course, if they had been leaving better contrails, this would have been considered "evil" to the folks on here.
